DCs Toys

Our DCs are 3 and 6. A while ago DW took a big pile of dolls (Barbie, etc.) from her parent's house for them to play with. Almost every day since then DW has lost the plot and shouted at them as something (a shoe, a tiara, etc.) has been lost or put back in the wrong place. Now I'm in trouble cos I got fed up hearing about it and said if she was so f-ing precious about this stuff she shouldn't have given it to small children in the first place.

AIBU to think:

  1. a 4-year-old can't be expected to keep track of tiny doll's clothes;
  2. toys are for playing with, not just looking at;
  3. if a doll's hat gets lost, it's not that important (and certainly doesn't require everyone in the house to spend two hours looking for it)?

YANBU. If she's that precious about them then she should've kept them at her parents' house or away from the kids. Get the kids their own dolls instead.

If they're anything like I was, it's only a matter of time until Barbie gets a hair cut...

yanbu I gave DD the same and it was vintage. Sure she loses bits and pieces but its my fault for not sitting with her and keeping an eye on tiny bits. your DW needs to chill out or think carefully before handing over any more stuff she deems 'hers'.
