To wonder why pencils don't sharpen properly any more?

They just don't. They break. Is it the pencils, the sharpeners or me??

I have this exact issue! Didn't realise it was a nationwide thing . DCs have sooo many pencils between them, and we can't sharpen a single one. I think we do have some staedler ones (stripey?) And they seem ok. Same with my make up pencils too. In fact I replaced my lipliner with one that pushes up rather than needs sharpening.

I did get a pretty good sharpener from Tesco, can't remmeber the brand now but it's the best sharpener we've had. Is half sharpener, half rubber with a plastic case covering the rubber.
