It's lush weather so expecting people to be outdoors etc just wondering when is normally "quiet time"
im overly tired with a baby who keeps being disturbed
I'd say hopefully by 11 as its a weekend?

We've had next doors barbecue and noise all evening. Im pulling my hair out.

I've also got to be up at the crack of a sparrow's fry for work tomorrow. Bet those who say it's ok to be noisy until midnight don't even stop to consider shift workers such as nurses who have to be up and on their best game for work, whether it's a week day or weekend. Seems that my neighbours certainly don't. I can feel my blood boiling.

Notcontent · 17/06/2017 23:13

I really do think people should try to be quiet after 10 pm or so.

This is why I need to win the lottery and buy my own quiet island but still have somewhere to go eat, a few shops, broadband...

My delightful neighbours who are playing techno music you hear on the waltzers have just let of some fireworks, as you do Angry

We're normally surrounded by noisy arsehole neighbours but everyone's away this weekend and it's bliss. I could live with this all the time.

TrollMummy · 17/06/2017 23:37

We've been in the garden until late this evening. DCs mucking about and making a bit of noise. I am quite conscious of this and made sure we were quiet after about 930. The evenings we can do this are few and far between.

SomeOtherFuckers · 18/06/2017 01:14

11-12 as it's a weekend but later if in a student area. Weekdays I'd say 10 x

toffeeboffin · 18/06/2017 01:19

I'd say by 10pm at the latest.

But we live in the burbs.

Defuzzing · 18/06/2017 01:23

It's an unspoken understanding around here to have very limited noise after 7.30pm whatever the weather. There are lots of elderly neighbours and a few families with young children. Whatever the weather my children are usually in bed for 8pm latest do I would be annoyed if there was disturbances keeping them awake. Luckily all of the houses are owned so there's no problem with tenants/new people moving in.

I need quiet...I hate noise so I moved to a very rural town in Australia. The loudest things here are the possums at night and the kookaburras in the day.

In an ordinary suburban setting I'd say 11 too.

Gunty
Some nurses work the night shift. The world doesn't come to a standstill during the day while they sleep. And most people find it more difficult to get a long deep sleep during daylight hours. To some extent everyone needs to be able to find strategies that enable them to sleep independently of whatever's going on outside, like earplugs. Yes, very loud noises are antisocial and should be curtailed, but there needs to be a bit of understanding on both sides.

My neighbours went to bed at 4.30am after a 'sesh' u had to be up at 8.30 as I'm at work today.

pringlecat · 18/06/2017 12:43

I expect quiet by midnight, but I don't live in a particular family-friendly area (flats).

If I lived in a cul-de-sac street with lots of houses... Probably 10pm.
