Start of summer party budget

Doing dd a start of summer laua as her birthday seems AGES away (sept) and we thought that as most of her friends are in some sort of pre school/nursery now it would be nice to mark the start of the summer with a bit of a party

Looking to budget about £80-£100 there's dd/dn and 3 of her friends they're all under 5.

Do you think this budget is reasonable and where should I start?

Pap- as long as she enjoys it at the time I don't mind if she remembers it or not to be honest. It's more important to me that she enjoys herself

If you want a theme how about a beach party? All kids have a sundress and cossie. Supply paddling pool and sandpit if you have one. Serve ice creams and picnic food.

Maybe have one activity like making a shell necklace and very possibly a short puppet show, done by yourselves. That's if you are a theatrical sort.

Don't try to turn it into a theme park, you will look back and crave the innocent simplicity of tiny children soon enough.

Ahh it's animal party bag lady! Seeeeeeeriously?? A "beginning of Summer" party for someone who probably can't yet name all the months of the year in order? You don't need a party. If you want to invite some friends and their Mums over then great, but don't turn it into a three ring circus to impress the other Mums as the children won't give a ripping whoopsie shit.
A symbolic party like this would be lost on my 7 yr old especially as the British summer holidays are so short. Americans have Summers here parties because it's three long months and people don't live close to each other as schools can be miles from people's homes in any direction.

I couldn't work out from your last post how you were so steadfast in what you wanted to do but then seemingly clueless about how you'd achieve it and had to ask Mumsnet.

Zeeboo - it's not about Needing a party it's about wanting one.

Who cares if my dd doesn't know the order of the months I don't know how that is relevant, she knows she likes parties and her friends and through the summer everyone's going away so why not?

I've never had a party at home Hence asking for advice

Bouncy castle, paddling pool, slide. Sand pit if you have one. Job done.
