Parking in Central London

I am due to graduate in July, the ceremony is being held at the Royal Festival Hall and it's at 10:30am.

Now, we could use public transport; that is via overground which will be 5 minutes and the underground for about 40 minutes in order to get to the venue around 10am.

I was looking at parking near the venue and came across this website; www.yourparkingspace.co.uk/locations/show/20490162?gclid=CLnN5ZHUw9QCFQoYGwodq0ILcg which states parking between 10am to 1pm costs just £6.

I am a bit skeptical at the price because it seems like it's cheap for central London parking. Driving to the venue will be about 1hour-1.5 hours which is not too bad.

Has anyone used this website and can tell me how genuine the prices are? Would you recommend driving or using public transport? Would love to hear from others who have been to this venue.

Good luck @velvetroses

Well done on completing your degree. Hope you have a successful career/life. Flowers

A Graduation is a bit long, but it's a lot of fun, and very exciting. Smile

I've used this, took DC 3 to the DC Marvel Lego exhibition on South Bank during half term, cost me £11 parking for the day.

Booked it in advance, no problems at all. DC has additional needs & cant use the tube so it was so much easier. If you don't count the fact I got lost on the way home 😂

I have parked at the National Theatre which is reasonable for london (at least it is if you have a ticket) but it is quite tricky to find even if you are used to london driving, and you would have to factor in the congestion charge. Public transport is your friend. either head for Waterloo or embankment tube.

I also think you are not allowing yourself a large enough margin of time, to get there at 10.00for a ceremony at 10.30 is very optimistic! You will have to book in, collect a gown, your guests will have to find their seats, you might want to go to the loo which will be crowded. Even a few minutes signalling delay or being held at a station will really mess the timing up and stress you out. I would be aiming to get there at least an hour before hand to have time to enjoy the day without getting hot and sweaty. You are only going to do it once so enjoy it.
