You said you think that Labour will be brought in without an election or due process.

That is unhinged. There is zero precedent for that in our country, nor any suggestion anyone wants that.

There is the possibility of Labour forming a government if Theres May fails to form a government but that is part of normal democratic process.

Spectre8 · 18/06/2017 09:20

No I didn't say they would get in without due process...but another election or by forming a minotiry government.

Spectre8 · 18/06/2017 09:21

look it was a flippant comment on the back of an underlying feeling after yet again waking up to more news bashing the Tories

ShoesHaveSouls · 18/06/2017 09:33

The Tories deserve a good deal of criticism for the Grenfell fire - they are the ones who've ripped up H&S legislation and called it "red tape".

They are the ones who allowed people to live in a building with no sprinklers, and flammable cladding on the outside, despite strong resident protest. This is a scandal, and I'll bet a pound to a penny that all the organisations involved (Council, Government, KCTMO, the installers of the cladding) are currently working harder on how to pass the buck - and make it 'not their fault' - than on anything else.

Labour are, in general, in favour of legislation for health & safety - and are criticised for being 'Nanny State" - but look what happens without it - people put flammable cladding on high rise tower blocks, and people burn to death.

Spectre8 · 18/06/2017 19:06

Well its now been announced that the cladding is already illegal in the UK so the laws are clearly in place - who is the idiot that ignored the laws then who approved the design and materials because that is where the issue now is

GMB has been by far the worst. Live streaming a man trapped in his flat waving for help all morning on Wednesday. What if he had just died on the spot? His poor family called in identifying him.

He was rescued in the end but still they didn't know that would happen. If I was trapped and saw a helicopter I'd assume 'ooh look I'm going to be rescued' nope sorry, just ITV live streaming your imminent death here.

BigYellowJumper · 19/06/2017 01:37

spectre I don't think flippant comments are appropriate on these kinds of matters.

If there's another election or they form a minority government, I don't see how that is a problem. Those are both democratic processes.
