To think that people outside London could do so much good donating...

... But maybe not directly.

They are overwhelmed with donations following the tradegy, which is absolutely incredible. They have so much stuff that they no longer have anywhere to store things and are turning away donations.

Money is obviously going to be enormously helpful... But, I've seen people on local Facebook groups talking about hiring vans and driving down to London, and does anybody want to donate clothes/food/baby clothes.

It just struck me that everybody just wants to help, so much, but since they're already overwhelmed with the incredible amount of donations in London, that if you have things you'd like to donate... Oh.. I can't think of a way to say this.. It just feels like every body wants the help. Suppose I'm just saying that if you can't help the people affected in London, help someone somewhere. It doesn't matter where

Sorry if waffling.

YANBU OP! :)

If the people outside London aren't able to donate money, they could do so much good by giving their time and money to a cause in their hometown or nearer to them.

I think (and hope!) that what's happened in London will go on to show that so much good can come out of a tragedy. I hope that people might look into volunteering and similar ways of helping out in their community. I've recently started volunteering, and it really is an absolutely fantastic thing to get involved in.

I know what you're saying but, as someone who lives just outside London, I've seen so many posts on Facebook asking for help with donations, so people have, because that's what they were being asked for at the time.

Now those posts have been replaced with appeals for 'just giving' donations as its been noted that that's what is needed now.

There are a lot of good people in the UK who genuinely want to help others and I think it's easier for them to help when they're being given easy and accessible ways to. If that makes sense.

Maybe we need to look at ways to make other charitable actions more accessible to everyone?

Mayor Andy Burnham has created his Greater Manchester homeless fund. He is aiming to eliminate all homelessness in Manchester over the next couple of years.

This wonderful cause really needs as much money donated as possible, but I imagine bedding, beds, toiletries, clothes, food and perhaps other furniture etc would be greatly received.

If any of you think you could assist, please Google the Greater Manchester Homeless Fund for more information.

Thanks Argeles - that's a fantastic cause.
