Just on Channel 4 news, no more donations can be accepted but storage for existing donations is desperately needed.

There is a gofundme page too.

And just asking for a few bumps so local people see this

Most of the cash is being raised by the Evening Standard: www.dispossessedfund.org.uk

Big companies are making donations btw. It's often done on the quiet, as they don't want to seem to be making PR capital out of a tragedy. But that doesn't mean it isn't happening.

Yes to donating money.

I spent a stupid amount of time yesterday arguing with people who thought I was deranged for telling them NOT to send piles of crap from their wardrobe there! There's is no distribution infrastructure and to be frank, it's west London: there are shops (and plenty of them, especially the food shops, are helping directly).

The Evening Standard Dispossessed Fun is established and collecting - it's a no brainer to send money there - so much will be needed in coming months.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! A friend of mine in Yorkshire was wanting to send towels and similar. I said that they were probably overwhelmed with similar.

I'm going to be donating money. I just wanted to see what fundraisers there were so that I could choose appropriately.

As I understand it the Red Cross have done a fair amount of the heavy lifting in the immediate aftermath of the fire. If you have good quality goods but no cash and want to make a contribution you could give them to a local British Red Cross shop, or sell at a boot sale and donate the money. Unlike Manchester and London Bridge, this is a case where very large amounts of cash will be needed to assist the victims, because although there are people responsible who should be paying it will take time to identify them and sue, and the pots of insurance available may not be sufficient in any case if many fire victims have lifelong injuries.

When I say "sell at a boot sale and donate the money" I mean to a specific Grenfell fund not the Red Cross - that was only if you wanted to give to a relevant charity shop.

It isn't just people on MN saying "No more stuff" Yesterday the crisis centres were asking people NOT to give anymore items.

They have more than enough things and nowhere to put them.
