WIBU?

I've NC because it could be outing.

I found someone on a local FB page to take up 3 pair of brand new (with labels) jeans. (£22 each).

They agreed to charge me £13.50 for the 3. Discount from £5 per pair.

I dropped them off. The mother explained that she has a wrist injury but her daughter will do them and she has trained her.

She asks me to call her, I unfortunately I am unable to, and then the next day she says pick up at 2pm.

I go to pick up and she explains that her daughter has brand new baby and a bit of baby brain and took one of the jean legs up twice.

They have been out, replaced my jeans with another brand new pair at the actual length I wanted them (but couldn't get at the time).

I was really fine with it, and had no worries and said it was nothing to worry about.

I then paid the £13.50, said thank you and left.

Now I'm not sure if I should feel bad. They are out of pocket, but it wasn't my fault?

I think they did the right thing and you still paid. Don't worry about it :)

They did the correct thing. They rectified their mistake as you would expect any company or business to. You have nothing to feel bad about.

JeansWoman · 13/06/2017 17:16

They totally dealt with it really nicely. Especially since she couldn't get hold of me and had gone out and replaced them.

I just feel a bit shit they are out of pocket even though it's not my fault.

Nah, don't feel guilty. Entirely their mistake to rectify.

They should feel extremely relieved they only fucked up a pair of £22 jeans that are still available on the high street instead of a two wedding dress.

SaucyJack · 13/06/2017 17:20

*two grand

JeansWoman · 13/06/2017 17:43

I know that's the sensible response.

They wonderfully recitfied any issue. I am happy.

And yet that British guilt thing in me makes me feel awful. WTF?

I'm a seamstress. Apart from the fact they don't charge enough for the job (I charge £10 a pair to take up jeans) they absolutely did the right thing in sorting it out.

Scholes34 · 13/06/2017 18:35

They did the right thing in sorting it out and hopefully you'll now put more business their way.

JeansWoman · 13/06/2017 19:25

Oh I will highly recommned them!

And DP is the same as me and said, well, they're out of pocket now. So I'm not a twat for feeling bad.

I bet they just exchanged your pair for the new pair. If they still had tags on it would be easy no shop assistant checks the leg length before accepting an exchange.
