To wonder WTF is wrong with some people?! Parking one...sort of...

So this is what happened on my road earlier. Turned out that the skip company had dropped it in the wrong place and did (eventually) come back to move it.

My big car couldnt fit past and an emergency vehicle wouldnt stand a chance, but a mini or other small car could just about manage.

Would anyone like to guess what happened shortly after the skip was dropped in this position?

Marvellous diagram OP no denying that, I considered a diagram to show my corner problem but felt I could never achieve such levels.

redshoeblueshoe · 12/06/2017 23:38

Pyong its exactly like that here. 2 decent size car parks that can only be used by people in the new builds - and they are always empty Confused and no room for anyone else, and the few people who actually have drives park on the road

S'dead easy Tizzy, the shape ...... making....... thingy (stop me if I am getting too technical) on Paint is your friend there!

So your Dickhead parks so you have to go round the corner on the wrong side?

That would piss me off!

Excellent diagram Tizzy
I might have to invent a parking thread so I can do a diagram

JaniceBattersby · 13/06/2017 00:06

It's really typical of new builds now that parking is 'somewhere else' other than right in the front of the house, which inevitably is he only place people actually want to park.

Our planning committee is now turning down developments like this and asking the builder to look again at parking because it is such a common problem - the streets aren't wide enough for people to park down both sides and so they just end up getting clogged.

It's always worth looking at plans for new homes near yours and if the parking looks crap, raise it as an objection during the consultation..

And, of course, OP, YANBU.

TizzyDongue · 13/06/2017 00:07

Yep. And often mount the pavement as it's a narrow road

TizzyDongue · 13/06/2017 00:09

Thanks redshoeblueshoe. Why not just stick a diagram here. We could all barge in on OPs diagram glory then I won't look so bad

redshoeblueshoe · 13/06/2017 00:13

Tizzy I've got to go to bed - but I might just do one tomorrow Grin

PyongyangKipperbang · 13/06/2017 00:14

:o Maybe we should have a Gallery on MN where all the parking diagrams are kept for posterity!

If it is then I just hope that they have a license to leave it there for a fortnight!

Last time I hired a skip I had it for as long as I needed... Grin

Yes, excellent diagram there, OP.

Why no update this morning?!

PyongyangKipperbang · 13/06/2017 15:33

Sorry!

Er....skip is still there, no murder amongst the neighbours that I am aware of and I will drive slowly enough to be nosey carefully to the top of the road on the way to Aldi, to see if it really is on Mr "I own the road"'s parking spot!
