Aibu to walk over their garden?

When they park like this? No need to park over the whole of the path. Park partly on to keep the road free if you must but this is taking the piss. To get to the park I would either have to walk my kids in the road or over their garden. I think the latter is perfectly reasonable considering this isn't a one off and they have a garage and parking space around the side of the house.

OP you look from your photo like you're parked on the path too just from the perspective. I think i'd just walk around since its a cul de sac rather than a main road

BluePancakes · 12/06/2017 14:55

It also looks like my town (beginning with S).
Clearly Persimmons/Bovis/Barrett/David Wilson etc build the same houses all over the country!

MrsTerryPratchett · 12/06/2017 14:56

Garden. Inconsiderate buggers.

MyWhatICallNameChange · 12/06/2017 14:58

Yes, go,over the garden. I always get the urge to walk over cars when they park like that. I haven't been brace enough to do it yet though. (And I'm worried I'd go through the windscreen or something!Grin)

It makes me so cross when people park on the pavement because it means that you usually have to walk on the road.
That's not too bad if you are able, but it is dangerous especially if you are infirm, or in a wheelchair or in a pram.

luckylucky24 · 12/06/2017 15:01

Trees i was on a stretch of road between the two streets. There is a junction between my house and theirs.

Not only would I walk over their garden, if this is a public street I'd phone the traffic warden's office and report them. A couple of tickets and they'll learn to park more sensibly.

PyongyangKipperbang · 12/06/2017 15:03

We had an issue with this last winter when people moved into the new builds over the road. They each have 2 parking spaces around the back but all parked over the pavement at the front instead. On the way back from the pub we had to walk in the road so I wrote "SELFISH PARKING CUNT!" in the ice on the back windows. Funnily enough it didnt happen again!

Cheby · 12/06/2017 15:06

Also looks like a place near me beginning with C. David Wilson homes. Had no idea they were so identical.

YANBU OP. Walk over the garden.

PyongyangKipperbang · 12/06/2017 15:07

and I think it looks like either a place beginning with B or W! :o

I suspect that developers everywhere all use the same plans!

thereallochnessmonster · 12/06/2017 15:14

The pavement and road are on the same level, aren't they? Maybe not having a raised pavement means people don't think they're real pavements, so feel free to park like loons??

Ceto · 12/06/2017 15:17

If that's a public road, call parking control.

HundredMilesAnHour · 12/06/2017 15:21

Are there signs saying parking on the pavement is allowed??? If not, your neighbour is parking illegally (rule 244 of the Highway Code)by parking on the pavement:

Rule 244
You MUST NOT park partially or wholly on the pavement in London, and should not do so elsewhere unless signs permit it. Parking on the pavement can obstruct and seriously inconvenience pedestrians, people in wheelchairs or with visual impairments and people with prams or pushchairs.

DollyMcDolly · 12/06/2017 15:23

The estate I live in is like this. I walk on the garden.

Greenifer · 12/06/2017 15:26

I'd just walk over their garden. If anyone says anything just tell them that you'd be happy to walk on the path only someone has parked on it. And then smile in a friendly way.

CaptainHammer · 12/06/2017 15:39

Yanbu. I'd walk on the garden and report it every time too.

Scaredycat3000 · 12/06/2017 16:53

Definitely go on the grass, in very spiky heels, racking my brains for something innocent the dc/buggy could be doing along the same lines. My estate, 70's same all over the country!, have well established foliage blocking many paths. The council have even resurfaced the paths around the plants on more than one occasion so are well aware of how bad it is.

emmyrose2000 · 13/06/2017 04:34

Definitely walk on their property. I always do so when confronted with scum who've deliberately blocked the public area with their car or whatever.

Spam88 · 13/06/2017 05:07

Oh we have one of these, they have a garage and a double driveway but they choose to park one car right at the end of the driveway so it blocks the path and the other just fully on the pavement like yours. I opt for walking across their grass and making an extra effort to drag my feet when it's wet.

flumpybear · 13/06/2017 05:19

Grass - bloody numpty parking!!

WelshMoth · 13/06/2017 08:04

Scum? Shock

Whoa! Bit much.
