You know, I watched the ABC special on Watergate last night. It was unbelievable the number of times Nixon was quoted or they played a recording of him or one of his minions would expound on what they were ordered to do, and I thought: OMG, that's something Scrotus would say (or do). Their mindsets are very similar: "Winning at all costs". I also didn't realize how hard or how long Nixon held on to the Presidency after so many people told him it was time to go.
What I noticed also was that when it came down to the House impeachment vote, how many GOP Reps voted their concsciences and not their party. You could see the 'regret' in many of their eyes as in "I hate to vote this way, but I just cannot put party before country". Unfortunately, I can't see that happening in this day and age.
