Were you left in the car while parents went to the pub?

Sorry didn't know where else to put this.

I've just seen this meme on Facebook and so many people are saying this used to happen to them.

Quite a lot said they would sit in the car for hours. Some said they shared a drink between 4 kids. Some said they didn't get a drink. Most are laughing about what would happen if it happened these days.

Did / does this really happen?

Am I lucky that this never happened to us growing up or is this unusual?

You know what Gottagetmoving and others. Perverted men getting away with sexually assaulting and abusing young women (just because they were on the telly) was a way of life then too. Thankfully people realised it was fucking wrong

No one said it was right. People are recalling what happened when they were a child. My memories were happy ones when we played outside the pub. Right or wrong, nothing bad happened.
As I said previously, communities were different then. People did look after each other. Children played out without supervision and yes, there were dangers but no better or worse than today where children are bullied or groomed online because they are kept indoors and are on the internet and xboxes. They can view pornography, if not at home, then at school where friends share it.
I think the dangers to children are worse today. They are full of fears we didn't experience.
I have seen both...then and now and there are just as many dangers today.
