to think that Jeremy Corbyn is GLAD he hasn't won?

Because at the moment he is the saviour of the Labour Party, the guy who wanted to end austerity and "for the many not the few" etc etc.

If he had won... he'd actually have had to find a way of delivering Christmas presents to all the children in the world on a sleigh in one night. There would have been endless fights over forming a cabinet, many of the Manifesto promises would have had to be binned and it would all have ended in Nice try, mate, but you've been rumbled.

As it is he is the noble hero - a la Scott of the Antarctic/Dunkirk/Charge of the Light Brigade (add spun defeat of choice).

Don't forget his tooth will you.

I agree OP. I think he ran a great campaign but campaigning is different to running a party or country. And unfortunately IMO, in the last two years he has not demonstrated great or even adequate leadership qualities. I wish he had as I really, really don't want a conservative government , but I don't want a shambolic labour government either.

I'm glad he hasn't won.

Your bitterness is really quite enjoyable :)

It would have been interesting to see just how he was going to do everything he said.

I agree that this is the best possible result for him. A great result for labour from the start of the campaign where the Tories were expecting to increase their majority - and he doesn't have to deal with Brexit and crushing the brexiteers dreams of having their cake and eating it. The Conservatives have had a shock and will hopefully realise that their policies of screwing the poor and the young aren't being ignored
