So I've lurked on these kind of threads for a long time and I'm talking about a very specific type. AIBU to think people should just leave people's threads alone when they are asking others to share negative experiences? I just think some people like these kind of threads and others are genuinely curious and then you get some people coming along putting them down for it or the latest I've seen accusing them of working for th daily mail (can anyone explain that one to me genuinely confused).

I just think if you don't want to read them then leave people to it and don't contribute?

Okay I'll give an example. I've just seen a thread asking to give ideas of sexism people have experienced and they basically got 'why are you asking to put other people down'. I don't get it. Why can't people leave those people who want to write something to it. It's not like threads where people are fabricating stories.

A) your post is nonesense
B) you can't police what gets posted, it's an Internet forum
C) are you from the Daily Mail?

I'm sorry what? Are you a journalist?

Because it's a chat forum, and conversation is fluid.

Unless a poster is being deliberately goady, e.g. turning up on 'Look at my lovely new kitten!' to say 'All cats should be strangled at birth', YABU.

That's the impression I'm getting without people attaching the OPs for asking

No I don't mean when people are asking people to agree. I'm on about when people ask people to post their negative experience on 'X subject'. They get complained at for 'putting people down ' or being a DM journalist Hmm

I think you might have misunderstood the idea of a chat forum tbh.

And just because you start a thread, doesn't make it "yours"

I'd imagine that people post more on threads "they don't like" just to put the OP right when they're being a twat.
