To be annoyed at the cost of Alton Towers

My three year old really wants to go to cebeebies land. Obviously that means having to buy a ticket for Alton towers.
Even with a Kellogg's free adult voucher, it will cost us over £80!!!

People going to cebeebies land obviously won't be using the majority of the park. Why don't they do a separate cebeebies land ticket, or make a cheaper ticket for smaller children that are clearly too small to go on anything other than cebeebies land rides?

It's such a rip off and means we probably won't be able to take him. It costs £38 for our whole family to get into Thomas land/Drayton manor. £80+ is extortionate!

We never went to peppa pig world for this reason. Kids would have enjoyed it I'm sure but they are hardly deprived.

We ended up buying legoland passes with tesco vouchers which was great, but again, a "nice to have".

My kids are too old to be free anywhere now and there aren't many days out for 4 of us under £50.

Having been recently I would say that there is probably a lot more at Alton Towers for a 3 year old than you realise, plus as theme parks go the grounds are really lovely in large areas and it costs money to maintain all of that. CBeebies land is just a themed area within the park like others already there so there is not really any way you can gain entry separately.

G1ggleloop · 05/06/2017 16:31

There's not just CBeebies for the little ones though. There are rides all over which are ok for little kids.

water we went to sundown adventure land last year. It was amazing!! Could do with a lick of paint, but of course that doesn't matter to the kids. It was brilliant!

Lots of votes for gullivers. I'll have to take a look at that as I don't think it's far from us.
I'll also look into wicksteed. Thanks for the recommendations.

water you're totally right. Cebeebies looks great and I KNOW he would love it. But at this age, he's not been spoilt with the big things and would be just as happy down our local park! So yeah you're right.

Can't see who sent it now, but yes we have been to twin lakes a couple of times. It's really close to us. We took him for his birthday (December!!) and we pretty much had all the whole park to ourselves! It was great!

YABU. If you don't like the prices, even with BOGOF, then you've probably made the right decision not to go.

It's meant to be a family theme park - so areas for adults, teens, children and very young children. You can't really segregate the park and offer cheaper admission if you only want to go in one area.

And PS, if you want one day at Magic Kingdom in WDW, that would cost you around £100pp at the gate, so AT is much cheaper in comparison!

Is there an annual pre-school pass for Alton Towers in the same way as there is for Legoland? The Legoland one is amazing value in my opinion. £60 for a year for an under 5 (on date of first visit) and one adult (and it doesn't have to be the same adult on each visit). It is only valid during the week in term time but, if you have a pre-schooler, can work really well.

Alton towers do a parent and toddler ticket it's about £15 think it's less you have to call and book though you can't get the ticket on the gate. I did this three years ago and it was £12! Also if DP goes with you you can get a ticket stamps so only one waits in line and then DP or you enter via the exit showing your stamp and they let you on!

or borrow a wheelchair like me and a friend did in out teens Blush

Tuesdays are the best days to go and avoid the school holidays if you can

NameyMcNameChangeChange · 05/06/2017 19:42

We got merlin tickets one year because it was cheaper than getting a holiday. Once we thought about it like that they seemed quite reasonable. We used them lots and lots.
