AIBU to be interested in who people are voting for and what their income is?

I have no income as I'm a student and will be voting labour.

DP has an income of £22,000 and will be voting labour.

Anyone else?

Both lower rate tax payers, both will vote conservative. My income has nothing to do with the way I vote.

TopsOff · 05/06/2017 08:41

Both higher rate tax payers. Joint income around £140k. Both will vote labour.

Biker47 · 05/06/2017 08:42

40% tax payer, voting Conservative.

eurochick · 05/06/2017 08:43

Two six figure incomes. Both likely to vote Lib Dem.

Moanyoldcow · 05/06/2017 08:43

Joint income around £80k - DH higher rate and me basic rate. We're both voting Labour.

Ginormoustrawberry · 05/06/2017 08:44

Joint income of £80k (ish). Both voting Tory

FakePlasticTeaLeaves · 05/06/2017 08:45

40k/70k both voting Labour.

ASqueakingInTheShrubbery · 05/06/2017 08:45

Joint income about £65k. Both voting Labour.

kaytee87 · 05/06/2017 08:51

Joint income £120k (mine £30k, dh £90) I will vote lib dem in an attempt to unseat snp and I quite like our local lib dem candidate. Dh usually votes conservative but I think but will probably vote lib dem this time too.

MadameJosephine · 05/06/2017 08:51

I'm a single parent with 2 jobs (1 ft, 1pt) with a total income of 42k. I'm voting labour

Fab39ish · 05/06/2017 08:55

Dh hrt tax payer voting Tory even though he would be happy to pay more tax. Which of course is more likely under the Tories as they haven't ruled tax rises out for anyone.
I will be voting Labour and I earn very little as virtually a SAHP but I would still vote Labour irrespective of income.

kaytee87 · 05/06/2017 08:55

Interestingly my dad who was a loyal labour voter, from north of England, very working class background, was in the armed forces and was deployed in Northern Ireland, has switched to conservative. I'm gobsmacked but he said he couldn't support JC who he dubbed a terrorist supporting scumbag. He thinks labour will have lost a lot of the veterans vote. So it's not all to do with income/social status.

WhingyNinja · 05/06/2017 08:56

Joint income of £90k, both voting labour.

MirandaWest · 05/06/2017 08:59

Joint income of about £80k, roughly equally split. Not sure how DH is planning to vote. Think we're both considering between lib Dem and labour in a seat that will be conservative whatever we do.

fuckwitery · 05/06/2017 09:04

Joint income around £200k. Both conservative.

MsJolly · 05/06/2017 09:05

DH higher rate tax, me lower.

Neither of us sure TBH but we are in a very safe Tory stronghold, so our vote is pretty invalid. Our MP has been rubbish to our particular area though so we are voting against him just to narrow his majority by two votes-as am sure he will worry about that not

Twinkie1 · 05/06/2017 09:06

Joint income 250k both voting Conservative.

PeaFaceMcgee · 05/06/2017 09:07

Joint income below 40K; lib dem in a Tory seat

teapotter · 05/06/2017 09:56

0k and 80k. Probably both lib dem.

I saw research recently that showed the link between type of job (ie roughly social class and income) and vote has almost gone. Instead there is a big link between age and vote. So Tory voters are more likely to earn more, but only because they are older. Age is a better indicator of voting preference than income.

Gizmo79 · 05/06/2017 10:01

Joint income £85k.
Voting labour for the first time. Previously libdem but am terrified of Tories hanging in and completely destroying the NHS.

lovelyupnorth · 05/06/2017 10:11

70k joint both lib derm -lib dem safe seat

ErrolTheDragon · 05/06/2017 10:15

Both lower rate tax payers, DH conservative, me libdem or con. Old enough to know socialism would be a lovely idea in theory, if we could actually afford it, but unfortunately we can't.

alltouchedout · 05/06/2017 10:16

£26k and Labour.

Dawndonnaagain · 05/06/2017 10:23

Currently on benefits. Old enough to know that socialism can work. Will be voting Labour.
Dsis on six figures, Labour.
Dbro on six figures, LibDem.

sysysysref · 05/06/2017 10:25

Well over the current 45% tax bracket for DH, basic level for me.
DH Conservative, he thinks that Labour will utterly destroy the country
Me - I'm inclined to agree with him, I've always voted labour but will vote lib dem this time.
