My dd has been through so much in her life, open adominal surgery, open heart surgery, 4 stunts of life support and alot more she is still really unwell and its looking like genetically speaking I was the carrier.
I feel so heart broken that it was my fault :(

Thanks oh God love you, its no ones fault, least of all yours.

RoseOfSharyn · 04/06/2017 23:47

lonely i totally understand how you feel. I have passed on a horrible life limiting genetic condition to 2 of my DC. I didn't even know the condition existed until they were born, let alone that I carried it.

The guilt is crushing.

Have you had any counselling?

Lonelymummyof1 · 04/06/2017 23:49

We only just had the official diagnosis, they could never work it out before.
But after biopsy results we now do but it broke my heart in 2 and now I feel so guilty that I can not even bare to feel like I deserve her.

You've supported her through all of that. You are clearly a loving parent who just wants the best for their child. Don't feel guilty. Feel proud of what she has come through and the relationship you have.
Wishing her much better health. Flowers

I have inwardly fought with myself over my children's condition for almost 2 years now. But counselling has massively helped me. And I concentrate on the facts that a) I did not KNOWINGLY give this to my children, and b) that I feel guilty proves how much I love and deserve my children.

Take it one day at a time.

Are there any charities who deal with the condition your DD has? How old is she?

FlowersFlowersgod love you op.. this isn't your fault! You are clearly a loving parent. Keep doing that! You are amazing 😉 xx

LadySalmakia · 05/06/2017 00:14

Oh sweetheart. No. Of course it is not your fault. You've given her so much love and care and got her the treatment she needs and you had no way to know there was going to be an issue.

There is no fault here. There's only love and worry and it's making you think funny. Just keep loving her and looking after her.

DancingLedge · 05/06/2017 00:14

You didn't choose this. It is not your fault.
