Ridiculous to feel guilty asking neighbours to turn music down?

Our neighbours across the road (their garden backs onto our road) are out in their garden, drinking and playing loud music. It happens most sunny days - annoying but live and let live, right?
But tonight was ridiculously loud, 'can't hear the TV even though the windows are closed' loud. There's about 10 of them - music getting louder as they get drunker. It was really pissing me off but I tried to ride it out - managed almost 4 hours of it before I snapped. So I stomped/walked across and asked them nicely if they could turn it down just a little. They apologised straight away and the music was off before I got back in my front door. And it felt great! (I may have even declared "And that's how it's done!" as I came back in.)
The only thing is, the music is still off and I feel a bit guilty that I've ruined their night. I only wanted them to turn it down a little. Am I being ridiculous? Or too British? It wasn't even 10 o'clock when I went over so it wasn't really late just bloody inconsiderate/annoying! And they now know where I live/who I am because they would have watched me walk back in... I'm over-thinking this, right?

Not ridiculous at all. Good for you!

Good for you. I bet all the other neighbours with DCs revising for crucial exams were grateful too.
