To ask if there is anything I can do to make period start faster?

Getting married this weekend. Have period bloat, huge sore knockers, starvation syndrome and bad skin. Due to start period -I guess- around Wednesday.

Is there anything I can do to make it happen faster? I want to feel human and enjoy the festivities.

Prepared to consider any suggestions (no matter how ridiculous) including licking toads and witch doctors.

Extra absorbant tampon

I did this today funnily enough, I had all the symptoms you described and awful pain, moods and headaches, I'd had enough.

I wore a pair of white pyjama shorts with no underwear, took paracetamol and ibuprofen together, and jumped on our garden trampoline with dd for 20 mins- bingo! Dh was nearly sick when he saw the back of the shorts so win win...

Dong quai, get it from a health food shop. Works like a charm.

Ollie Grin

Just been taken over the dining table, my teeth rattled! Wearing white pjs. If that doesn't work I don't know what will

No, AVOID ibuprofen. It delays the onset of your period and can make it lighter temporarily - this storing up trouble for later!

If you are having your period on your wedding day and want to reduce the flow on the day, take the ibuprofen then. It will make it drag on for longer afterwards, but you'll get some respite on the day.

LurpakIstheOnlyButter · 04/06/2017 22:25

Right, no more ibuprofen! Thanks!

Sex. Without fail

specialsubject · 04/06/2017 22:33

No. Old wives tales. Same as all the nonsense talked about starting labour.

Except there is no induction for a period .

This is why the bride sets the wedding date.

Have your car broken into?

Extreme shock sets mine off every time. Maybe OTT?

Smear usually brings mine on early.

pinkandwhite26 · 04/06/2017 22:46

Don't take the stuff that delays your period.. you still get all the other crappy symptoms there is just no blood. Just prolongs the agony in my opinion.

Mandraki · 05/06/2017 07:16

Sex! Specifically if you orgasm, something to do with uterus contractions and oxytocin. So technically, you just need to orgasm.

Mandraki · 05/06/2017 07:18

Just seen your post about the dining table 😂 Hope you woke up to shark attack this morning!

StarryCorpulentCunt · 05/06/2017 08:06

Orgasm followed by a poo always does it here.

NemosKnickers · 05/06/2017 09:26

I know you say you want it to come but you can get the tablets to delay it mentioned above from Superdrug online. They deliver next day and you can have a long course, e.g. Delay for 30 days to cover wedding and honeymoon.
