Kids over the road having a party - how long until I can complain?

Urggggh.

There's about 30 teenagers shouting, singing and swearing as well as tearing about on mopeds.

We are packed in like sardines in terraces so it's not like they don't know what a racket they are.

I know it's 8.45 but I expect this will go on until late at night... If it does - is there anything I can? Or just silently stewing... It's mostly the mopeds that are annoying but they have the foulest mouths too!

Calls the police about the mopeds. Are they driving dangerously?

Its Saturday ! I'd leave it at least until midnight if it's a one off

BandeauSally · 03/06/2017 20:49

Probably drinking on the street too.

Rufus200 · 03/06/2017 20:49

If they are in the street and not in a private property then you can call 101 and speak to the police. If they are in the garden then the police won't do anything about the noise it is up to the council.
I have major problems with next door. The parents are in and allow underage drinking. Police don't care. Council have no out of hours for noise, they have an app that you have to download and record noise levels. They then send out a letter telling them off about a month later 🙄

RitaMills · 03/06/2017 20:51

If it wasn't a regular thing then I'd probably just sit and silently stew to be honest with you, hopefully it won't go on too late.

allthecheese · 03/06/2017 20:51

11pm, or earlier if there is any sign of illegal activity - drink driving or the smell of drugs.

I hate the attitude of 'if it's a one off don't be so uptight', because imagine what would happen if everyone had a 'one off'. And that is exactly what clubs and bars are for.

StillDrivingMeBonkers · 03/06/2017 20:51

call 101 and say you can here shouting and you wonder if its a fight

StillDrivingMeBonkers · 03/06/2017 20:51

*hear

dglv · 03/06/2017 20:53

I'd say to leave it until 11/12ish as it's a Saturday.

However the drinking and mopeds doesn't sound safe - might be safer to at least warn the police so they're aware and possibly prevent anything serious happening! At least that would soothe your conscience!

ThePinkOcelot · 03/06/2017 20:56

11 o'clock. Unless they're riding the mopeds drunk!

jensterr · 03/06/2017 20:58

I agree time wise. They're just seemingly driving the mopeds in circles - I'm not sure if they ones on the bikes are driving but I will keep an eye out. They are mostly in the house but there is a good gaggle spilling out onto the road - this particular house is a tiny two bed so goodness knows where they are packing them!!

As in circles around the area, not literal circles in the road I mean.

OP posts:
jensterr · 03/06/2017 21:00

Now two of them are having a sweary argument in the road, curiously one of them sounds scouse, we don't get many Scouse around here. They have neon face on, it's all rather cringe really...

If it was just a noisy party, I'd leave it till later but if you think they are drinking and driving mopeds, I'd phone the non-emergency police number.

Oblomov17 · 03/06/2017 21:16

I don't think you've got any grounds at all. Whilst irritating, having a party, or driving mopeds round and round endlessly are not grounds to call police or anyone.

Goingtobeawesome · 03/06/2017 21:17

Are they wearing helmets? I rang the police once as teenagers were riding mopeds without helmets and I didn't want body parts everywhere. The police came straight away.

Imamouseduh · 03/06/2017 21:20

It's Saturday FGS. Unless it's every weekend, just get over it. It's only one night.

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 03/06/2017 21:24

You (and other pissed-off neighbours, separately, all at staggered times?) decide on evening stroll.

Subtly scattering drawing pins as you go... Wink

Note:
That was a JOKE, people. Before I'm accused of endangering anyone/ pets' paws etc.

OP,

Hope things calm down soon/ are made to calm down soon.

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 03/06/2017 21:27

OP,

When you say "teenagers", do you mean 15-ish yr olds taking advantage of parents being out, or 19 yr olds renting their own house?

stormywaters · 03/06/2017 21:32

Be thankful they haven't put their couches and big speakers in the.front garden...I'd def call the police about the mopeds though.

jensterr · 03/06/2017 21:39

Hi all,

No they're probably 16 or so and its the family home of at least one of them - I don't really know how many kids there are there. I expect the parents are there too.

The mopeding seems to have stopped so hopefully they're being sensible but I will keep a beady eye on them.

I knows it's Saturday, we have live music just down the road but this is slightly different.
