To ask when your child outgrew their cot?

Our daughter is 13 months, average size I would say. She wriggles a lot whilst asleep, and seems to be outgrowing her cot already. She wakes herself up because she rolls into the side and bashes herself. It's a standard 140cm by 70cm and I don't know how long it'll be before we need to move her into something bigger

I know we can take the front off this cot and attach a little wooden bed guard, but the bed frame will remain the same size and I don't actually think it'll help much

When did you move yours into a bigger bed?

We used an air flow bumper as ds would bash around when he was little.

Also I know a 7 year old in a cot bed which still has all 4 sides

My ds was two when we took the bars offthe cot and turned it into a toddler bed with a bed guard on one side. He stayed in this until he was 5, then went into a single bed. He is average size and it was perfectly adequate.

DD's cot is 120x60 and she's still in there at 4+! It's definitely a bit too small now, trying to decide what bed to go for next.

DS is 13 months and can climb out of his. Can't even put the sides down as they don't detach (he's in a travel cot with a proper mattress in our room) When he wakes around 12pm we just bring him in with us for the rest of the night.

Anyways, we have a trundle bed in the spare room and when we get round to it (maybe after the summer) we'll make the bottom trundle (plus guard rail) into his bed.

You could try one of the air wrap bumpers (breathable mesh). Had those for both my kids and were in their cot (not cotbed but smaller cot) till 3.5 and 2.5 respectively. I think your son is in prime rolling about age and will probably get past that phase shortly so don't panic just yet.

I will look into the airwrap bumper, thank you. She gets her legs stuck in the bars sometimes as well, so the bumper would help with that!
