If Trump blocks people legally subpoena'd or who volunteer to testify then we are rapidly approaching the end of democracy as we know it. That is an abuse of power the likes of which we've never seen, not even in the Nixon years.

Legally, I haven't the expertise - although most who do say he can't. In practical terms, I think it would be impossible for him.

Regardless of whether the toddler was having a "Shan't!' moment, or whether someone was whispering in his ear, the outcome has been deepened divisions.

Any invocation would be very different in nature to those under previous Presidents and they'd almost certainly lose Congress. Between a rock and a hard place.
