Great! Play it loud and clear! We played it in the car today loudly BlushGrin... Buy the song too!

On Sunday radio 1 refused to play the song when it was at number 10 in the charts Angry. They just mentioned it and skipped to number 9.

This reminds me, I can't believe DH reminded DS of the terminal ear worm "I'm Nicola Sturgeon and everyone's picking on me", complete with dance. Took weeks to get that out my head. In the interests of fairness I suggested that for a while we sing "I'm Kezia Dugdale and everyone's picking on me". We don't seem to have any Tories in Scotland to speak of, so we may be out of versions after Kezia.

JeremyCorbynIsFit · 31/05/2017 13:55

This is better than any sturgeon song!

Cross border rivalry at its absolute best!

Our song disparaging our first minister is way better than your song disparaging your prime minister!

SoupDragon · 31/05/2017 16:08

Yeah, but to be fair, the number of politicians who aren't liars can be counted on the fingers of no hands

This.

PrinceAli · 31/05/2017 16:17

I don't understand why bbc1 can't play it on the chart show due to needing to remain "impartial"? If it's happened of its own accord isn't it taking a side by not playing it?

caroldecker · 31/05/2017 16:21

Foodbanks are all over Europe and are more used in Germany and socialist France than in the UK.
People are no hungrier than in the past, there were just no food banks available.

PortiaCastis · 31/05/2017 16:24

Love it 😁
Dd downloaded it and we've been singing it all day.

No tory voters in this house

PrinceAli · 31/05/2017 16:24

There has been a huge increase in food bank use. What are you on about? This could be completely unrelated to the huge cuts in benefits (400 off my housing benefit just this month! Yay) for vulnerable people and the huge cuts to he disabled... but i think we can safely assume it's related

araiwa · 31/05/2017 16:29

They are not allowed to play political songs in the run up to an election

waitforitfdear · 31/05/2017 16:32

That you again jezza? Mug up your figures for later love and stop mumsnetting Wink

WalkingOnLeg0 · 31/05/2017 17:03

Will bet you £50 that if Labour wins the GE there will be as many people going to food banks in 5 years as there is now.

PortiaCastis · 31/05/2017 17:05

I haven't got £50 neither have a lot of folk that's why their going to foodbanks

PortiaCastis · 31/05/2017 17:06

*they're

JeremyCorbynIsFit · 31/05/2017 17:08

This certainly isn't old Jezza. I'm a big fan. Don't forget to watch him on the debate tonight!

Caroldecker, this is 2017. should we really be aiming for the same as it was in the past?! There should be NO poverty in the UK. Food banks shouldn't exist because people going through hardship shouldn't need them IF they're getting the appropriate benefits.

OP posts:
MacarenaFerreiro · 31/05/2017 17:22

Jeezo, some people have too much time on their hands making up that sort of shite. Mind you, appeals to the "devil incarnate, eats puppies for breakfast" crap that a lot of Mumsnetters spout too. Not big, not clever.

Not a Conservative voter either before you start.

JeremyCorbynIsFit · 31/05/2017 17:24

Aaaah shuddup and listen to the song!

OP posts:
MacarenaFerreiro · 31/05/2017 17:25

There has been a huge increase in food bank use

Only because there has been a huge increase in charities setting them up in the first place! Agree with whoever said that there is no more hunger now than there was in the past, but that doesn't fit with the left wing opinion that the Conservatives are out to starve the UK. Hmm

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 31/05/2017 17:26

Might this be the only acceptable music to blast in your garden this summer? MN approved. Grin

Love it.

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 31/05/2017 17:28

Generally people who bash foodbanks tend to be the type who look down on those who use them.

PrinceAli · 31/05/2017 17:32

Yes definitely not related to cuts to the disabled who can't work and to women with young children who'd be worse off in work. Just feckless people who like food bank shopping

caroldecker · 31/05/2017 19:01

Why are there as many foodbanks in other European countries? People will use whatever is available to them. Whether they are necessary to prevent starvation is a different discussion.

ComingUpTrumps · 31/05/2017 21:57

Such a catchy song OP! Thanks for sharing :)
