..my mum's lodger? as you may have read on another thread, i've been rather tired and low, partly due to dh being away.

mum has offered to cook sunday lunch for a joint mothers day get together with me and the LOs. trouble is, she mentioned yesterday that her lodger would be around -which she said would be helpful as he's 'so good with the dds'.i've had such a bad night, dd2 not well and up during night, then up for good well before 6. i just cant face small talk with someone i hardly know.

i dont want to upset mum, but i'd rather have beans on toast at home.

what would you do?

go around, eat lunch then go and have a nap in your mum's bed!

thanks cargirl. trouble is, i see my mumquite often for a quick 'hello' when she looks after the dds, but not often for a proper chat/ get together. i just dont know why she has included the lodger. she knows that i dont share her her liking for communal living. (had a childhood full of lodgers, which rather put me off!) fair enough, its her house, but on mothers day? i thought it was time for mothers and daughters to be together.

just say - i'm sorry but i'm going to be very boring today. i'm tired after a bad night - and don't worry about making small talk

Maybe your mum's trying to help, since if the lodger is good with your lo's, maybe he'll play a game or 2 with them or something so you won't need to watch them the whole time.
