To want to go somewhere warm in October?

Not really aibu just want loads of answers.

Coming home to the UK in October from the States and am fed up of spending a fortune just to have a stressful time trying to see every family member.

I feel sorry that dh and ds spend every 'holiday' trudging round my mostly unbothered family and so this time would like to include 7-10 days of something nice too. (We'll come in to a bit of money by then).

We haven't been on holiday (apart from UK which is actually as far from a holiday as you can get) in over five years. The Caribbean and Florida are out for us now because of Zika so I was thinking of going from the UK to...... somewhere that's warm, culturally interesting and safe in October.

I was thinking a few days in Barcelona (never been there with a kid but think it would be fun) and then somewhere in the South of Spain? Where's warm and not too touristy but not too off the beaten track?

Seville, Marbella old town.

The north end of Tenerife would be my choice. Much less touristy (and greener) but still lots to do. I usually stay in Puerto de la Cruz and use the Titsa buses to get out and about. The weather will be good in the Canaries at that time of year.

Oh I've always wanted to go to Seville.

I went to Tenerife for Christmas about 15 years ago. I sadly went the the big tourist place. Was not a good Christmas lol.

Fly to Malaga and hire a car or train around Andalusia. Granada, Cadiz, Jerez and Malaga itself are all great. V high chance of t shirt weather and great food.

Portugal usually has nice weather in October too.

Cyprus! Had my honeymoon there in early October and it was lovely! Chilly in the evenings but baking hot in the daytime :) we stayed just outside ayia nap so could walk or bus in for day trips out on boats bit they're wte a few lovely restaurants closer to our hotel and as we're not clubbers we didn't bother with it on the evening. Some nice historical places to see; the old monastery is lovely and just generally really good. We stayed on the Greek side and would def go back!

Cyprus in Oct is very reliable weather wise.

^^ This. Or you can fly to Granada direct on easyjet. Can also travel around by train or coach.

A couple of years ago we flew to Malaga, hired a car to drive up into the mountains and walked El Caminto del Rey. Drove to Granada to drop car off and spend a couple of days in Granada. Got train to Seville to stay for 4 nights and just mooch around for a few days.

One of the days we had a day trip by train to Cordoba, but Jerez and Cadiz other good day trips. Barcelona and Madrid are also great and there is a good high speed rail network or internal flights I think.

Cyprus sounds nice. I'd like something a little beachy where we can just chill. Dh and I would love to do some driving around but ds is a pain in the ass in the car.

Dh is horrified but I'm bit adverse to going to a kid type hotel where there's a kid's pool etc so ds has someone to play with (and leaves us alone for five minutes). But I guess everyone will be in school then.
