To use Ocado because the Sainsbury's website is down?

Crazy Sunday night, I can't get the Sainsbury's delivery site to work and for long boring reasons I can't make it to a store in the next forty eight hours.

If I try Ocado will they just keep sucking the money out of me until my bones are dry, or is it quite reasonable?

I'd rather avoid the horror of our local Tesco and Asda service, Morrisons hasn't made it to us and I don't use Iceland for ethical reasons.

I think the Ocado meat/ fish deal is really good. 3 packs for £10. I have a huge hungry teen to feed, so plenty of protein is what we need!

However, I've got myself stuck on a £6.99 monthly direct debit which I don't make use of. Should cancel it!

I had a full "trolley" on sainsburys website and can't check out which is very frustrating, think I might have to actually go to a real shop with two small children Shock

Oh I love Ocado. Find it really hard to use other online grocers now (feel obliged to when they scene me discount codes but always feel a bit grrrrr using their inferior websites).

It's not more expensive IME, unless you get sucked in by the organic grassfed unicorn filet type oddities (I do Blush)

Airborne if you cancel they might offer you a better deal. I am on £1.99 a month for unlimited any time deliveries, it's great!

Big Ocado fan here, I have used them regularly since my first order for delivery one fine Christmas eve. Everything came just as required, within their one hour slot plus a tiny treat - a bar of marzipan.

We now do a separate delivery to my elderly mother. The drivers are consistently brilliant to her, carry her shopping through to the kitchen and even, on one memorable occasion when her phone was out of action, called me from their mobile to let me know that all was well.

I throughly recommend them. Of couse, it gets even easier after the first regular shop. I haven't tried it, but they now advertise a facility to import a list of favourites from 'other' supermarkets. Might be worth a try, if you are already up elsewhere and hate the thought of moving.

@Strummerville - Thanks - I will do that. TBH, I've chopped and changed with them. Cancelled, and then accepted their better offer.

I need to do it again.

I have always found Ocado cheaper than other supermarkets because on every order I have made, there have been offers or coupons to reduce the overall cost. I got a voucher for importing my Tesco Clubcard frequently bought items into my Ocado account, one for free delivery for a year and £20 off first shop, free bubbly after 5 shops. Ocado own brand stuff is generally good quality.

Can I just ask OP what ethical reasons for not using Iceland? Interested because I have a family member who works there so I get to use their discount.

Massive Ocado fan here. The fresh stuff has quite long dates on too. Very friendly delivery guys. Always inform you if you have a substitute and in over 2 years only I think had 2!
They take back any bags you have too. Even ones not theirs.
