Weird one ( back story as really need to change my username ha )

But recently got engaged to my childhood best friend ( I have child by someones else )

Anyway proposal was absolutely beautiful, I of course said yes as he is the most amazing person in my life.

Then it dawned on me I hate weddings !!!
I actually tend to think of every single excuse not to attend a wedding....now I am going to have to attend my own haha

I should run, it would be unreasonable to run would it not.

Anyone else panic like mad as soon as they realised marriage was on the table ?

You have the wedding you want.

I absolutely love weddings (I know on MN this makes me a freak of nature)

Big, small, traditional, out there, I love them!

I'm planning my wedding at the moment and doing the whole shabbang very traditionally and I couldn't care less what anyone thinks Grin

I don't mind small intimate ones but hate with a passion big weddings that the bride took a gazzilion years to plan.

Marriage is a useful institution which confers many legal protections, so don't give up on it if you are sure that you love your partner and know that you want to be with him forever.

The actual wedding celebrations can be whatever you want - don't be pressed into having someone else's idea of a good time.

I hate weddings too. I would either have a migraine or my period on the day, I know it. I think they are a waste of money seeing as in 2016 I read that 42% of marriages end in divorce!

If I had to get married, I would be happy with a registry office and wearing a non traditional outfit. I'd probably have a bit of food after like a buffet or takeaway or something. I'd probably only invite my family. The thing is, I suppose it depends on the groom as if he wants a more usual wedding with loads of friends then we'd have a problem.

One of my friends has just opted to stay engaged and not get married.

I hate weddings, DH hates weddings, we did tiny at Gretna Green and it was brilliant, no fuss, no bother, very few people (and still cake!)
