Fucking boy racers doing laps around my road

We live near a kids park. Never seen an under 12 in it, probably due to the dozen rowdy arsehole boy racers parked up out there every weekend smoking weed, playing shit music and doing noisy laps around our circular close.

AIBU to become a curtain twitching hag, set up a webcam at our side window and try to get their plate numbers to grass them up for drinking/smoking/driving/smashing bottles around a play area?

Fucks me off every weekend. To be honest I am not at all bothered about groups of quiet friendly stoners just chilling out (was one in my day 15 odd years ago). I do have a problem with stoned drivers doing laps over the speed limit around a residential street, smashing bottles, and playing atrocious dance music that I can hear through the double glazing.

Shouldn't they all be indoors playing on their tablets or xboxes like normal young people these days?

Rant over.

YANBU!! you deserve your peace and quiet, plus blazing round the streets stoned could pose a massive safety risk to your neighbours and the boys themselves. I say if you really want to get back at them then do as you've said and get the camera out! they'll probably never come around anytime soon. There are decent ways to be a stoner and this is not it!

Sorry, this sounds shit. If you can report them anonymously I would do that.

YNBU.

We cant take our DCs on the local park because of the ASB. We have to go to another one the other side of the estate instead. One where my autistic son wont be threatened with violence because he walked too close to Miss Teenage Mafia herself running over to the swings. Angry How very dare a child rush to play on play equipment? We rang the police. They were known to them. They had a word with her. So I'm sure she's not going to do that again. Hmm .

You wont need the number plates OP. Just give the officers name of the road and they'll send a car out to have a gander. With any luck they'll all not have no licensees or insurance and they'll all have the book thrown at them.

I can relate. I've been told by THE ACTUAL POLICE to call 999 (I know!) if they're doing this mad driving thing as it's an emergency offence.

Possibly like me, you've tolerated it and thought what can I do, but yes, you can call 999.

There's a family that lives on my street who fix their shitty cars all day long and then do super fast laps to test the bloody engines and I used to call 101. They told me to call 999 when they're lapping as it is dangerous driving.

Yeah I'll put the webcam up and try and get some footage of them.

The noise bothers me less than worrying about them running over my cat! Or a child of course.

I was hoping that one of the parents with small kids would go out and give them a bollocking to save me the hassle, but it hasn't happened.

Their cars have had some stupid adjustments too, to make them extra loud and obnoxious.

Dangerous driving, driving whilst under the influence of drink or drugs, antisocial behaviour, littering, are all offenses so I see no reason why you shouldn't call the police to let them know crimes are in progress.

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 22/05/2017 09:39

And while the police check them out for the above offenses they might give their modified cars the once over to check they're street legal too Wink
