To not be concerned I don't want to eat!

I'm overweight, 11st at 5ft6 (post baby but that was over a year ago!) I have a small frame too if it matters so need to lose at least 2st.
I've been attempting to diet, discovered 16:8 fasting which suits me fine. Also tried high fat low carb but made me feel sick so gave that up.
I'm trying to stick to 14:10 fasting as it is supposed to be better for women, but I'm finding it difficult as I seem to have gone off food. I am hungry but there's nothing I really want to eat bar apples, tinned soup, diet coke, pitta bread pizzas and coffee.
I could have icecream but I don't want the sugar.
So I suppose at the moment I'm not eating much. But, I am taking vitamins and I am overweight! So I can't see the big deal personally, apparently others (who over eat imo!) can.
So as not to drop feed I am still breastfeeding but it's just a part of bedtime routine, baby is a toddler so certainly isn't relying on my milk. I also did have eating problems previously but this was yeara ago, pre-babies, being pregnant taught me to eat!
So bearing in mind I am 2 stone overweight, should I be concerned? Force myself to eat food I don't want and evidently don't need? Or can I tell concerned nosey parkers to butt out!

I'm not an expert but I've read in a number of places about your body going into 'starvation mode' if you eat too few calories:

I only eat one meal a day in the early evening most days and the days I eat lunch are when we have meetings and I feel I have to be polite becused they are catered for but I'll only take 1/4 sandwhich and put up with "have some cake, eat some more"

But like you, I had issues with food when growing up and my stomach is used to not eating and my weight is baby weight from eating whilst pregnant but most dropped off with breast feeding.

Just be a little careful. I've had eating problems in the past too, and find it quite easy to 'switch off' from food. Once you stop eating, it can be difficult to start again. Plus it's non-productive, as not eating enough just messes with your metabolism, so that is easier to put the weight back on when you start eating normally again.

I suppose I think this is my "normal eating" it's how I like to eat.
I don't like to feel full and I'm not a fussy eater at all but generally speaking I don't like the texture of most food so whilst I can enjoy a good meal out it's not something I enjoy on a daily basis.
I made myself do it whilst pregnant and breastfeeding but I feel I've done my bit now.

You seem to be craving unhealthy food? I did slimming world whilst bf and it was great, might help retrain your palette?

Smellbellina · 20/05/2017 13:09

I don't think it's particularly unhealthy is it? I tend to have soup (sometimes tinned sometimes homemade) whole wheat pittas with cheese, ham and tomatoes microwaved so like a pizza, apples, wholemeal toast and butter, greek yogurt. That seems ok to me I think?
I don't SW or a strict diet as it makes me food obsessed and miserable as it requires so much thought about food!
