Mummmy2017 · 19/05/2017 21:36

After 5 years of him being gone I sometimes get copies weird emails sent to daughter.... this one is about a craze for doing something that make you pass out...

So I sent a reply saying we were laughing about it, and DD isn't lilkley to do that as not stupid... and it's a crazy from 9 months ago.

He now says with a reply like that, it shows why he doesn't communicate with me... and then lies and says someone died becasue of it in our area this week.. but it's not in the news.. he always makes things up.

Want to send his a really snotty reply, as he knows I always reply when he emails me,,, Do you think he did it because he wants me to bite...

I don't understand why everyone found the OP's posts hard to follow. They weren't deathless prose but the gist of it was quite clear I thought.

Frilly "I take that under advisement" is a very standard response!

It's a polite way of acknowledging advice you have no intention of following.

Thanks think the Noted is a good way to reply, it puts an end to his email and stops him being snidy about any reply I do make.

Will also tell DD to just tell him that she has to go, I guess I know deep down he is bored and just wants an email slagging match, and no he wasn't abusive, just used to think his way was the only way, and has got worse as he ages, as has less authority in his daily life.

I want to hear more about his toe.

ScarlettFreestone · 19/05/2017 22:42

Being able to politely extricate yourself from annoying phone conversations is a real life skill.

Might be worth having a chat with your DD about a couple of ways to change the subject or close down the conversation.

TheManeEvent · 19/05/2017 22:44

I DONT want to hear more about his toe 😂

chocolateworshipper · 19/05/2017 22:47

photo of the toe, or it didn't happen

Mummmy2017 · 19/05/2017 22:49

Mayrat, he sent a picture of an open wound, it's the 3rd toe they have cut off, he sent a photo of it to as a CCC email, 3 days after it was done, with no dressings on it, thanks nice for a child to see right,

If I don't send a reply he calls me ignorant.

URGH. Ignorant does not mean ignoring.

redrobinblue · 19/05/2017 22:55

Don't take any shit from a man with 7 toes.

MsJudgemental · 19/05/2017 22:57

Eh?

SparklyMagpie · 19/05/2017 23:11

If it bothers you and your daughter so much, if this is all done bg email, just set up a new email account for you both or block his email

So what if he calls you ignorant? If hes sending things you dont deem appropeiate for you or DD then you can change that

Dont make it harder than it needs to be

CandleLit · 19/05/2017 23:12

Redrobinblue words to live by!

I think we should all have that as a mantra

mayrat · 20/05/2017 08:03

To be honest guys, if some fucker kept cutting my toes off one at a time, I'd probably be irritable too.

SouthWestmom · 20/05/2017 08:15

Every days a school day

He sends me copies of emails to DD, their weird...
ProphetOfDoom · 20/05/2017 08:15

I think you have to view your 9-toed ex's latest with amusement and get dd to see him that way too. And yes yes to making her more assertive with him - ending the conversation when she wants/extracting herself on her terms.

I'd reply to his emails: Noted or Noted, thanks.

And to toe pictures: Yikes! But you should see THIS one...and send back something festering.

FizzyGreenWater · 20/05/2017 08:54

If you REALLY wanted to piss him off you could create a little meme which you just use to reply to everything, maybe a Yoda with 'MAN WITH SEVEN TOES HE SAY...' above it, and whatever the latest bullshit is below it 😂

MAN WITH SEVEN TOES HE SAY... DON'T PASS OUT YOU DIE 😂😂😂

ProphetOfDoom · 20/05/2017 09:03

Unless you are all 8 toed yourselves, then if you lose your 3rd toe, you usually only have 9...or am I missing something here? Confused

Though 7 toes is funnier. I wonder how his balance is?

Wallywobbles · 20/05/2017 09:08

Both of you need to work on your boundaries. My DD1 now finds it possible to hang up on her psychopath alcoholic arse of a father. Initially she'd get me to do it for her as if he could see down the phone. First time was when she was about 10.

DD2 (11) is still a rabbit in the head lights. They've been no contact for 2 years. We saw him about 10 days ago by chance. It paralyzed us both.

Working on scenarios really helps. Role play them.

EllaHen · 20/05/2017 09:16

'Man with seven toes he say'. 😁

I also think the op was easy to understand. Not sure if posters were being deliberately obtuse?
