Reading the post about people being unable to whistle - that makes me happy as whistling really gives me a pain in the head. Not being able to skip now makes me unhappy. We all used to love it. Who can still do it now?

Was the way home from the pub hindered by alcohol? Wink
I was about to attempt this then remembered I'm exactly 8 days post spinal surgery. And I'm totally not explaining to my neurosurgeon that I herniated a disc again by "skipping around the house at 3am to check I still could"

This thread has made me resolve to do skipping round the mat as part of the warm-up next time I teach an aikido class Grin

Try galloping like Miranda, instead.

The head of my DS's school caught me having a skipping race back to the car with DD after dropping DS at breakfast club! I just styled it out like it was the most natural thing in the world.

I love nothing better than a bit of enthusiastic high knees skipping when we're doing drills at running club. Using the arms to get really high. Woo hooo!
Try joining a running club OP, you'll soon be back skipping Grin

scrivette · 20/05/2017 06:33

There was an episode in Friends with Rachel and Phoebe skipping.

I love skipping with DS, haven't done it for ages though. You can't be sad when skipping.

AnArrowToTheKnee · 20/05/2017 07:59

I might have to skip around the house today! DS won't normally let me, I embarrass him Grin

SomewhatIdiosyncratic · 20/05/2017 08:24

What? Grown-ups don't skip?

Having DCs was a great cover for the fact that I'm still a 9 year old at heart Grin

RustyPaperclip · 20/05/2017 08:29

I had a skip at work yesterday. First time in years. It felt bloody marvelous!

SnickersWasAHorse · 20/05/2017 08:30

I think we should make skipping a thing for grown ups.

I think we need to make it the new keep fit craze. There most be something that we can do to make it seem really cool.

Try galloping like Miranda, instead
I am a teacher and I used to gallop around the school with a friend, after the children had gone home of course.
It was fine until we rounded a corner to find the head staring at us.

Ollivander I can neither confirm or deny there was any alcohol involved.... ok there was!
