Ok despite my user name I am definitely a girl! I am 37 and have previously been diagnosed with PCOS. Was on dianette until we ttc. After having baby 1 went back to docs for the pill and was not allowed dianette due to new concerns on it. Now on mini pill. Have now had two babies. Just feel like I am getting hairier and don't know what to do. I am referring to my chin/lip. It isn't excessive by any means but is getting me down and noticeably worsening. I pluck something at least once a day and they are dark and spikey as they grow back. Not nice. Interested to know what methods people have tried. I would happily pay for some
Kind of laser treatment if it worked but as this is hormonal will it? Has anyone had anything from the doctors to help? I just got dismissed when I asked. Thanks

Electrolysis is the only thing that works for me. I have PCOS and one of my worst symptoms is severely coarse facial hair. Plucking and waxing didn't work for me - they stimulated more hair growth (although this isn't the case for all women with PCOS). Because of this, I was reluctant to try laser hair removal as after researching online I found that for some other women with PCOS laser didn't work or even stimulated more hair growth. If I recall correctly electrolysis is the only hair removal method deemed permanent and laser isn't

I found my electrolysis practitioner on the BIAE website (important to go with someone qualified)

I'm prescribed Vaniqa for my facial hair caused by PCOS. I can't use it at the moment because I'm pregnant but I'll be going back to it once I've had baby.
