to not understand why I need to change name on drivers license?

My job requires me to complete a DBS check
I brought along my passport and drivers license which are both in my maiden name and my marriage certificate and a electricity letter to show change of name and address
For some reason this wasn't acceptable for me to not have updated my driving license ( I got married before getting my licence but obviously passport was in maiden so I just got the licence in that!! )
It is actually a problem when getting a DBS check?

I'm like DarklyDreamingDexter - I use two surnames and quite often have to say "I'm Firstname X - or I could be Firstname Y.........."! My car insurance and V5 match my driving licence (which has my other name on the reverse of the paper copy) but my passport is in my other name. I do sort of wish I'd not bothered changing anything official when I got married and just called myself Mrs A when it was easier to rather than having bits of ID in both. I've done two DBS checks in the past 18 months for different things and both were fine - I did the form in the surname most of my docs are in and also gave info on the other name. I even managed that with a foreign marriage certificate which tends to throw people at times!

Happyasasanboy Your car stuff DOES need to be in the same name though, so if licence is maiden name then car needs to be registered in maiden name, insurance must be maiden name etc. Otherwise you risk the £1000 fine."

That is completely incorrect information.

I did my check a couple of years ago. I work in my maiden name but all ID in married name. (Passport also says "professionally known as Dr Maiden name" no problem for me.

My passport, driving licence, tax, bank etc etc are all in my maiden name.
