Getting honked at whilst out running

What exactly is the thought process behind men doing this? What is it meant to achieve? Hmm

Because they know that you will be super flattered by their manly attention and they know once you see them, you will fall over with sheer delight at the sight of their masculine beauty, and then you will bow in awe.

You should be grateful FGS. Cheer up luv it may never happen. 😂😂😂

Seriously, I am so glad I live semi-rural, and can run along the canal path, or the river bank. (Or around one of the country lanes that aren't too far from me.)

Meglet, you are incredibly fortunate if you have never suffered cat-calling whilst out in public. I have known many (usually) young women who have had to give up running outside, because of constant harassment from men.

Do men not get at all how it makes women feel? It's horrible. All they are doing is trying to impress their mates by acting all 'blokey.' On what planet do they believe women enjoy this letching and cat-calling? Confused

I would probably leave my DH if I thought he was behaving like this towards women on a regular basis; cat-calling and letching, and suchlike. I'm not kidding. Yet many of these men (probably) have wives or girlfriends.

I went to a running store a while back to get some good running trainers, guy there was so helpful-put me on a treadmill to see how I ran to work out which shoes to recommend. He said I had a bit of a wiggle & did I get loads of knobheads beeping or shouting comments? Said supposed it was possible but really wouldn't know as I can't run without my music so wouldn't be able to hear the twats if they did... Grin

If it's someone I know I give them a cheery wave.
If it's a random bloke I give him the finger.

I hate this. It happens when I'm out running all the time now it's light in the evenings and they can actually see me.

Just fuck off!

On what planet do they believe women enjoy this letching and cat-calling?

In my opinion they know full well women (and girls) don't like it which is part of the motivation. It's power and intimidation, getting off on the discomfort it causes women. If it wasn't then they'd not harass girls in school uniform (my first instance of street harassment was when I was 14 on my way to school, not rare either).

Ah, the tried and trusted method of hooting your horn and/or shouting something sexually aggressive at women in public.

Can't tell you the amount of times that's led to a long-lasting, deeply fulfilling relationship.

Because some men get a kick out of embarrassing women.
As a man who lurks enjoys the posts on here I find the very idea of honking at a woman running despicable.

In my opinion such cretins do not deserve your attention unless you are going to call them over and cut their balls off.
Just run, enjoy running and ignore the total idiots.
