About 1.5cm long. Look at its tail / stinger! What on earth is it?! It flies too. I've never seen anything like it in all my years.
I can't stop scratching just thinking of it.
Excuse the pic, I caught it in the nearest jar which is a bit grubby.

Burn down the house and move.

It's the Mumsnet way.

Ravenblack · 13/05/2017 22:19

It's cute. Grin

Burn the house down though! It WILL kill you and your family (including pets,) and then it will demolish your house with a wrecking ball, and then steal your car.

I'm just kidding Grin

Probably.

Previous poster are right I think. It DOES look like one of these...

Not common but not super-rare.

Reading through this thread and my god farted. I've just ducking jumped out of my skin! Get a bit jumpy when I see/ read anything about insects. Wow it does look strange though. What is it?!

The pointy bum thing is far more likely to be an ovipositor than a sting. Totally harmless. Unless it uses it to lay eggs in your brain.

PrancerForHoney · 13/05/2017 23:09

I had one of these land by me in the garden. It was flipping huge. Shock
