To be fucked off with my friend wearing my shoes?

I lent friend a pair of trainers I'd never worn, it was a one off due to her only having heels at that point.

We met up for dinner a week later and she was wearing my trainers again,

I lent her them as a one off to wear that day, not to wear them when she pleases aibu?

I need to know about the PJs. Confused

MycatsaPirate · 12/05/2017 19:34

Just message her and suggest she gives you the money to replace them seeing as they are now clearly hers and probably stink of her feet

Everytime I see a thread like that, I just think of Mexican House thief

What? Haha

This is ludicrous, you would just say "need my trainers back, thanks"

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 12/05/2017 20:00

Grr some people have brass balls eh? I bet she's been wearing them without socks too.
She shouldn't put you in the position of having to demand them back. What a liberty.

PoohBearsHole · 12/05/2017 20:03

i'm baffled as to why you would lend out brand new trainers having n ver worn them. Even with my oldest and dearest mate, i'd only lend her an olde repair of shoes i didn't mind if i didn't see again from r a couple of weeks as we don't live close! Never anything brand new,

tweezers · 12/05/2017 20:11

Stick that in your pipe... Thank you for Mexican House Thief!!
OP. Tell her to give your shoes back pronto. What's the worst that can happen?

I was off sick today and binge read threads.
They all seem to have this in common, there are people who are shameless about imposing on others and it's difficult to see it sometimes and just say no to them (I'm guilty of this myself) we seem to hold back out embarrassment or fear of the consequences, but the more I read, the more I think, what can they really do if you answer them back? Not much.

Llamacorn · 12/05/2017 20:14

I'll be the odd one out then... my friends and I do this all the time!
We have some clothes that pass between us all so often we don't know who actually bought them Blush

Rainbunny · 12/05/2017 20:21

There are certain things I would not lend anyone no matter how good a friend they are. Trainers are one, partly because I get expensive trainers since I run a lot and it's important to get them broken in for my feet. Plus they can get sweaty and I'll admit I get periodic bouts of athlete's foot so who knows what's going on with other people's feet! Along with that goes makeup, hairbrush and toothbrush - basically for hygiene reasons. Also if I don't think my clothing item will fit the person wanting to borrow it. I have a friend who says she loves my taste in clothes and has asked to borrow things in the past, the only problem being that I'm a size 8 and she is about 2/12 stone heavier than me, so sorry but no.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 12/05/2017 20:23

It's ok if you have an agreement between your friends to share clothes as long as there's s fair amount of give and take, rather than just take.

My sisters and I are the same size so will loan each other clothes for a party or something but it goes without saying that they're cleaned and returned after the event.
