To think the guardian should be happy at £5 a month and not pester me to increase it

I like their work so was happy to pay a fiver a month, however now they keep asking for more. It's the same with all charities you give then they just want more. If I wanted to give £15 I would. It makes me feel they are ungrateful.

You can get the letters and all the puzzles, Scary Grin But it's also perfectly sized for jobs around the home! You can get the print and online now in the UK for a tenner a week (or eleven if you want the digital download version as well) : I just use the app though, so the 2 quid version works for me.

The Guardian do have some subscription only content, but it's none of the crucial parts, which is presumably why it's not working so well for them (and anyway, they have a far smaller readership than even the Times)

Why is the guardian not financially viable? They are very popular must get millions of visitors a day, the site has adverts and their journalists can work remotely.

I know several people that make their living through doing online content.

Code42 I had a subscription for years....but it was extra for the crosswords! I'm in Belgium, so a real treat for me is a Saturday DT and breakfast at Pain Quotidien.

I might wait til they are offering a voucher again when you subscribe.
