Come on, he's responsible for most of the Fires in Pontypandy. Most of them, can be dealt without a Fireperson, what a waste of resources. But it does give them something to do, as they are just sitting about twiddling their thumbs waiting for a call.

We have a theory that Pontypandy fire service is so well resourced because it's full of wealthy second home owners who have been hit by swingeing local taxes to pay for the big fire engine, Jupiter, the little fire engine Venus, the quad bike, the train, the helicopter, Neptune the boat (and the other one - forget what it's called - Titan?). Pontypandy has loads of helipads for all these rich people too.

DH was saying that the only method of transport that Sam doesn't have is a Segway. I pointed out that this would be of limited use for putting out fires but there's definitely a toy merchandising opportunity being missed. It seems like they coincidentally have a new vehicle every series now.
