To think that all jobs are stressful?

I'm really interested to hear if anyone has/knows of a job that is really easy, low stress. A job where you can go home and just forget all about it.

I can't think of one that would be completely without stress and annoyances.

My husband has a pretty kooshy number. He drives for a living, zero stress but pretty shitty £££

When I was a shop assistant that was 8-5 with nothing after work. It was bloody boring though and much as I moan about it, I prefer what I do now.

My job is pretty stress free for me. I work for myself so only have as much stress as I allow

Retail assistant, receptionist, cleaner, bar maid - delivery driver

To name a few

Would driving not be stressful though? Having to be places on time and getting caught in traffic?

All the jobs I had as a student were stress free in the way you describe. Mostly all in catering. Shite pay though.

The least stressful jobs I've had are sales assistant in a department store and usher in a theatre.

Depends what you find stressful and annoying. Sometimes the environment and staff are where all the stress comes from!

I had a summer job at the department for work and pensions when at uni, I was looking at application files for widow pensions and directing them to the correct teams for assessment..... zero stress and super easy!

Also. Score I moved job I was in a pretty easy accounting job that had no stress and that I didn't take home- now I'm in a more high stress role but with associated higher ££

I also didn't find bar work or shop work stressful. Boring, sometimes hard work but never stressful.

Also didn't find it stressful being an admin type assistant to a lawyer when I was young.

My current job is very stressful but I also like it and didn't enjoy any of the above so swings and roundabouts.

Mine is quite stressed free. It depends what stresses you out though. I work for a charity and while there is pressure, it is a supportive environment and I can solve most issues with a few phone calls or some hard work.

I'm thinking all of those jobs have potential to be stressful quitelikely. Retail assistant I'd imagine you get all sorts of hassle from customers. Delivery drivers would be stressful trying to drive through traffic, people not being in, having a tight schedule to complete all your deliveries, trying to park a van in awkward places.

I think it depends on who you are, some people have the amazing ability to find fault with anything.
I agree with the op that there's no job without its annoyances, ie if you're a cleaner it may be fairly stress free but they'll be things that annoy you. I don't really get stressed but work a fairly 'stressful' job. Everyone's different honestly!

I don't forget about it when I go home though and regularly do extra hours, but that is because it gets under your skin and you WANT to get it done.

I've had many stress-free jobs in the past, mainly things that involved working shifts. You finished whatever needed doing by the end of the shift, and then went home and forgot about it. I would love to go back to a job like that but unfortunately am now stuck with a huge mortgage that relies on my working in a professional job, which comes with unpaid overtime most evenings and weekends, and never being able to switch off.

I never found hassle from customers stressful. You just know what the policy is and be polite but firm. Great practice for teaching.

Unfortunately rude customers are a lot rarer than the rude pupils I get now.

You might find those things stressful but delivery drivers do that every day so it's just s normal part of the job.

Receptionist for construction company - easy peasy. Ditto receptionist for firm of architects. Again, these were temp/holiday jobs when I was at uni.

It depends on how you characterise stress. You can stay in bed all day and avoid everybody and have no stress but then you'd probably worry about money and dying of a blood clot or something. Just getting around can be 'stressful' - there are things to do and people to be dealt with. IME genuine stress comes from frustration - situations where you are expected to get something done and would like to do it but you don't have the time or resources to get it done, or people are actively standing in your way.

I found working much less stressful than being unemployed or being too ill to work.

I work in university admin. Totally stress free.

Often very boring though and the pay is shit.
