To ask someone to outline SIMPLE pros and cons of Labour and Conservative Party?

Ok, so I'm not politically minded at all. All I am reading/hearing is Labour pros and Con cons. To me, neither have a likeable leader and I'd like some balanced points to help me decide who to vote for.

I can't be the only one who doesn't know much about politics so for us political simpletons, please can someone simplify and provide a somewhat balanced pro/con list for both?

There was a link posted on here to a site where the main policies are described, but you don't know which party they are from. You choose them according to which one appeals to you the most and then at the end you get a pie chart detailing which party you are most aligned with.
I'll try and find a link, it may still be in my history, can't remember which recentish political thread it was on though sorry Blush

It's voteforpolicies.org.uk
I got a big surprise by my result if I'm honest.

Morning all,

Similarly you can try a site called "I side with" (Google that + "politics" and it should come up). You go through a number of questions rating the importance of different issues and it shows you what percentage of each party manifesto matches your criteria. It also says what bits you match more strongly on (from memory) and a dash board of how left/right/centrist leaning you are.

Probably quite similar to Beers suggestion, but I found it quite enlightening!

Thanks, eveyone :) I'm already stuck at the first hurdle as I cannot pick from a list of polices as I'd want them all. Confused

I recommend reading their manifestos, which are available on the official websites for each party. It will give you a good idea of their aims and what each party hopes to achieve.

Only focuses on the negative, but the absolute simplest thing I have read about this campaign (which I'm not totally convinced by but seems possible) is:

Vote Conservative - anyone poor, disabled or vulnerable is fucked.
Vote Labour - everyone is fucked.

That argument was based on leadership, organisation and ability to keep the country going.

But I vote LibDem (or would if I had a vote) so I can support idealistic policies without ever having to decide if they are realistically workable. Grin

It comes down to who you want representing the UK in world negotiations.

I think Jeremy Corbyn has sound ideas; renationalised rail, mail and energy, yes, yes, yes! Scrapping parking fees at hospitals, totally! However, he wants to scrap Trident (our nuclear deterent) and the current global climate is simply too volatile to risk this.

Teresa May tends to have terrible ideas (IMHO), grammar schools, fracking, add the recent fox hunting repeal idea, and seems rather out of touch with the general public. However, I would rather she deal with the EU and Trump (she will find common ground whereas I cannot see Jeremy Corbyn being taken seriously).

I have my eye firmly on Tim Fallon and the Lib Dems, any inkling that they are close to being somewhere in the running and that's where my vote will go.
