To not want to go on holiday because I, "Look pregnant"?

Feeling pretty shite right now. Was my first day back at work today (DD is 5 months) and I planned my outfit and felt confident and groomed.

Got in to work and all was well, until one dickhead colleague asked if I was pregnant again (the same one who asked if I was going to breastfeed before I went off on Mat leave). Brushed it off and headed home feeling pretty good.

Then I went to see my niece after school with DD. I was holding her and kind of leaning back and she say, "You look pregnant Auntie Lilac."

AIBU to not want to go on holiday any more with my whole family, who are all really skinny. I'm a size 12 at the moment but previously had issues with weight and food and lost a lot of weight. I don't want to go into a downward spiral and have plans to exercise (shred) before we go away.

Help me stop feeling quite so shit.

Thank you again all. I was really really feeling crud earlier. Workname - I'm stealing what you said 'How cool is that?!' That's going to be my comeback chant.

Ignore, your body has been through a lot and you now have a DD.

As everyone else in here said OP, your body created ANOTHER HUMAN BEING. Flowers The first time I ventured out of the house after birth I was congratulated by the lady in our off license and asked when my due date is. I'm exactly at the same stage, 7 months post birth and looking 5 months pregnant. I've lost 2 stones and have 1 more to lose to go back to where I was (currently size 12, used to be a 10). I have bad days when I don't like the way I look in photos but I remind myself that when I was gaining weight last year I was feeling happy I had a bump. Why not celebrate our bodies post pregnancy in the same way? And if we never go back to 'normal', so what? Beauty standards can eff off.
I've just made an impulse order for I love these bikinis. Wear whatever you choose with pride, enjoy time with you baby and family and hope you have the best holiday ever! Grin x

Hiya LilacSpatula

I feel your pain, 3 months postpartum and dreading swimming costume for water babies next week!

If your muscles still feel far apart be careful with the shred, it may be better to focus on Pilate style exercise to correct that first. I'm doing a couple of specific post partum routines from YouTube which seem really good and helping

Pot I wondered that too but I did the first workout this morning and they already seem closer together - weird!
