Sorry I know this should be under food but I'm going to the shops soon so need replies plus I only really hang out here Grin

Im pregnant and feeling very sick at the moment but have a family to feed. Dh can't help out due to his hours. Can anyone think of healthy no cook meals? I just can't stand the smell of cooking at the moment! Thanks

I can think of simple meals - jacket potatoes/omelettes etc - but nothing much that's 'no cook' at all!

You could do a salad meal, get new potatoes that you micro in the bag, big salad...and a recommendation is that Iceland do bags of frozen ready to eat chicken which I've recently discovered. You literally stick it on a plate, defrost, and eat...it's great for salads and sandwiches and seems like lovely quality chicken whereas versions I've had from other places have been rank.

Sliced tomatoes, mozzarella (if it is safe to eat in pregnancy), olive oil, balsamic vinegar and basil.

Quiche, salad and bread?

PutThatPomBearBack · 08/05/2017 09:47

Salad
Or tinned soup and bread?

Can't really think of much that involves no cooking whatsoever!

Buy cooked chicken and eat it sold, with salad and ready made couscous/quinoa/rice salad. Ditto with ready cooked salmon.

Salad nicoise. Needs cooked green beans and hard boiled eggs really, but your OH could do these the night before.

Ploughman's, with cheeses/ham etc and fresh bread.

Those Spanish tortillas, filled tortellini with a handful of frozen veg chucked in. Hummus, crudités & falafel

How about getting a cooked chicken, some salad and a pack of tortilla wraps, then your choice of mayo/dip/hummus/salsa or whatever you can stomach to stop your chicken wraps being too dry. They are great with the chicken served warm/hot, but also nice cold if you are struggling with the cooking smell.

Avocado on toast is another not terrible quick dinner.

Bagged salad and/or wraps with tinned tuna/smoked mackerel/prawns/cooked meat? Quiche? Pork pie, scotch egg?

Ah wow so many good ideas thanks so much. I love the mozzarella idea, I think I could make homemade pizza as wouldn't have to cope with a cooking smell. And everything else sounds great too! Thanks all
