Poor DC is only two and has got a really bad case of chicken pox. It's all in his bum crack and on his bits really severely.
I've put virasoothe on, but I'm worried about infection given his by his bum.
What can I put there to help prevent infection? One or two blisters have yellow puss in them.

Will call doctors tomorrow, but what can I do in the meantime to help?

Bicarb in the bath was by far the most helpful thing when my DC's had CP

I've just emerged from weeks of pox (several DCs). Oat (in a sock) baths, Poxclin, not getting to hot and sweaty and a smear of metanium on each spot helped a lot. The good news is that no more new ones should appear, so now, so you're at peak badness. I'd get those looked at, just in case, unless looking better tomorrow FlowersBrew flowers and coffee for you

Bicarbonate and oats in the bath
Poxclin or virasooth
Sudocream on the nappy area
Then I dabbed a bit of savlon on any that looked bad

My dd had horrible pox on her genital area when she was 9mo. Open sores, i didnt know where to start when changing her nappy, it was horrific, I'm amazed she hasn't been permanently scarred. The dr prescribed thrush cream as he thought it was infected
