We brought her washing machine off her a couple of months ago, was told everything was fine with it etc. So we sold ours which was perfectly fine, only brought it of them because it was black and ours was silver and black would look better in our kitchen.

Anyway other than clothes coming out with washing powder on them, it has leaked 3 times now.

Twice today and after my kitchen floor being soaked twice and cleaning it up with clean towels and mopping for god knows how long I want to scream!

If she knew before then no, YANBU.

(But it's 'bought,' not 'brought')

TheWhiteRoseOfYork · 06/05/2017 17:45

Maybe it is the connection or the water inlet pipes? It might not have leaked at hers. Have you asked her about it?

Justmadeperfectflapjacks · 06/05/2017 17:45

Who fitted it? If you used the same fittings maybe you just need new ones? Old ones may have threaded a bit.

Pinkheart5917 · 06/05/2017 17:45

Maybe the machine was fine when you brought it? These kind of appliance can go wrong very suddenly, they just aren't built to last these days

You can be annoyed if you like but you've no way of actually knowing when the machine went wrong

WorraLiberty · 06/05/2017 17:46

YANBU if she already knew about it.

But I wonder if it happened during transit?

UppityHumpty · 06/05/2017 17:46

Leaking is a pipe problem, rarely a washing machine one

Astro55 · 06/05/2017 17:47

Have you cleaned the bottom filter? It's usually 5p's

WellErrr · 06/05/2017 17:55

Yy Worra. Washing machines are really hard to transport, if they tilt too much they're fucked IIRC.

Witchend · 06/05/2017 17:58

Our plumber said not to move washing machines without giving a thorough check after its been moved as they often don't survive moving.

LedaP · 06/05/2017 18:08

So you are working on the assumption that she sold it to you knowing it wasnt working?

HazelBite · 06/05/2017 18:10

Did you screw down the drum before moving it. We found (to our cost) not doing this can damage a machine, so it doesn't work properly after being moved.
