This thread is for another poster, but I was wondering if you could share some suggestions on how to deal with your child being bullied at school when it appears the school has been ineffective with dealing with the bullying to date? It is early secondary school years [The child is 13].

I'd move school if possible.

Same as I'd move jobs if I was being bullied at work.

I'd go to local education board. The local paper. The head of safe guarding. I'd make a holy show of them. I'd set up a blog to warn people not to put their children in there because. They can't or won't keep them safe.
Why does the victim always have to move schools.

Why does the victim always have to move schools

Because the school has shown repeatedly that it will not deal with the bullying to the bullied child's parents' satisfaction and the bullied child still does not feel safe or supported there.

Also why should the bullied child have to face the bullies and who knows what other intimidation day in and day out. Being right in a bullying situation does not always mean an end to it, particularly when the school are ineffective. Some schools are appalling in their lack of effectiveness in dealing with bullies, or their denial that it's happening.
