Hello, not sure where to post this so here goes.

My DD is nearly 6 months and Ebf, I have only been told recently that I should have been giving her vit d drops! My HV should have told me. My question is has anyone been doing this or not been doing this and should I be worried?

Advice changed recently to advise that ebf babies should have vit d drops from birth not the previous advice which was from 6mo. But as the previous advice held for quite a long time, prob don't need to be worried in retrospect - can just make sure supplement now. Babies of darker skinned ethnic groups would be more at risk from deficiency. Recommendation change is attempt to be more secure in the safety netting for the whole infant population in the light of the newest data. Current advice for mum and baby to have vit d. Check healthy start website for getting the vits.
