Any ideas? Just interested to know what other people would use it for. I know if u don't spend it soon I'll end up using it for the kids' birthday presents!

If you spend it on the birthday presents, does that free up £50 cash for you to spend elsewhere?

My Amazon vouchers go on yarn and hooks Grin

SootSprite · 03/05/2017 11:39

Books and music here. Or, buy kids bday stuff and use the cash for yourself.

EleanorAbernathy · 03/05/2017 11:40

We had a £50 amazon voucher as a wedding present - we used it to stock up on bottles of Bailey from Amazon Pantry. :)

EleanorAbernathy · 03/05/2017 11:40

Baileys that should say!

TheyDoItOnPurposeLynne · 03/05/2017 11:55

I'd like to think I'd use the cash on myself but I just know it'd get absorbed into everyday living! Urghhhh typical martyr mother behaviour...
All great ideas though. I want to buy something I wouldn't usually buy for myself.

Too much choice! If it were a voucher for Waterstones, you'd spend it easily :)

Think of something you enjoy and then search for that - box set; book; embroidery; chocolate; it's all on there!

youngestisapsycho · 03/05/2017 11:58

I just bought an Echo so would have used it towards that. Amazon basically sell everything, there must be something you would like?

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 03/05/2017 12:02

i'd buy some fancypants baking tins, maybe some biscuit cutters, an cheapy intervalometer for my camera, and probably a Yankee Candle Advent calendar.

I think that's pretty much taken care of well over £50 :o

Talith · 03/05/2017 12:05

I'd get a bottle of my favourite perfume - a big one. Or the posh Clarin's bamboo scrub I can never justify buying because of the price.

pinkunicornsarefluffy · 03/05/2017 12:05

I won Amazon vouchers on here and struggled to spend them on myself not on DC, but in the end I did treat myself to some perfume, some books, and a new bag with some of it. The rest went on DC though.

RitaMills · 03/05/2017 12:09

I'm with TondelayaDellaVentamiglia, my main spends (apart from Nerff bullets 🙄) is baking equipment, icing, posh cooking chocolate, cutters etc. Second choice would be books.

Since you can buy almost anything you can think of on Amazon, you must not want anything at all of any kind.

How can anyone not spend 50 quid on Amazon?

antimatter · 03/05/2017 12:14

this would have been money toward earphones.

HappyEverIftar · 03/05/2017 12:20

My (American) in laws, very generously, give us $400 of Amazon vouchers each Christmas and whilst it's very generous of them, we also struggle on what to buy! An extra challenge is buying small things, as they visit every Feb half term to see DG, so bring said items with them.

This year I bought a North Face body warmer in a funky colour (would hesitate to spend that much in a shop and would stick to sensible black or similar, but I actually love it) DH bought a Garmin GPS tracker thing. In the past I've bought fancy make up (Naked palette, Benefit stuff, Nads waxing kit Blush make up brushes) a pair of silicone tongs, a watch, DVD boxsets, CDs, fancy Union Jack shoes from Irregular Choice and another North Face shell jacket (easy to scrunch up in DMil luggage!). Report back on what you buy OP.

MaxPepsi · 03/05/2017 12:23

I spent my last lot of vouchers on a pair of Ruby Shoos and the matching bag.

Tried them on in the shop, decided they were too expensive and then whilst sulking showing them to DH online found them much cheaper on Amazon.

I think that's a bit unkind. She could have any of those things; she's asking what to choose which of the bajillion things to choose.

I gave this gin as a present and it was well received.

If you don't have Prime, can you use a voucher to get Prime for some months? It's really good for delivery but also the tv/film/music service is brilliant. You wouldn't feel selfish because the whole family would benefit, but actually it would be a gift for you because it means you can get nearly everything at the last minute and don't have to schlep to shops for children's birthday party presents etc. Saves you HOURS in the long term.

MrsHathaway · 03/05/2017 12:27

Apparently you can't pay for Prime with a voucher because they want your card details for the renewal. Buggers.

scaryteacher · 03/05/2017 12:28

Cookery books, stitching books and stash, shoes, books, CDs, cookery bits, another Kindle....

ChocChocPorridge · 03/05/2017 12:31

Toilet rolls, then spend the 50quid that I would have spent on those somewhere I can think of something I want to buy :)

InvisibleKittenAttack · 03/05/2017 12:58

£50 - if it was me, i'd put it as a credit on my account and then just stop feeling guilty about my kindle habit! (If you don't have a kindle the basic ones are about £50)

Other ideas - trainers? Something like converse or gazelles that you can cheekily go try on in a department store so you know they fit then order via Amazon.

Beauty stuff - face cream, foundation, your usual perfume. Again, it'd have to be 'replacement' as you cant try samples in store unless you go to a make up counter somewhere and work out what you want from their samples first.

While Amazon does "sell everything", it does have the disadvantage over actual stores of not being able to try stuff, it's a faff to return things that don't fit/are wrong colour.

AlcoholicsUnanimous · 03/05/2017 13:07

Ah MrsHathaway, Prime subscription was just about to be my suggestion!
It costs more than £50 though, so you'd probably still need to give your card details. That way you get access to Amazon TV (can't remember what it's called, but it's like Netflix), free Kindle books to borrow plus free delivery.

5foot5 · 03/05/2017 13:10

I was given £50 voucher at Christmas. I put it on my account and have so far bought wool and a CD I fancied but I still have some credit for next time I fancy treating myself.

pickleypockley · 03/05/2017 13:20

Do you have a hobby?

Gallavich · 03/05/2017 13:30

Doctor martens! I want a new pair and I can only find the style I like on amazon. They have so much on there, there must be something you want! Even boring stuff like new kitchen pans or something!

TheyDoItOnPurposeLynne · 03/05/2017 13:45

This is so much fun. Cheers everyone, I'm crap at shopping till I'm egged on!
So, so far I've got in my basket a Fire tablet (the cheapest one for 35 quid, pretty basic but my top of the range Samsung one has died) and now I'm thinking to splash out 15 quid on a fancy scented candle. Any suggestions? I usually get Yankee candles but wondering if anyone has any secret gems?
Thank you again, sad to say I've had a fun time doing this!
