To have given her the bitch stare?

I work with a woman I once considered a friend/acquaintance. Until I went through a traumatic time in my life and she took that as an opportunity to try and turn people against me. This was a while ago now.

Now she just stares at me ALL the time. This morning I came into work after her and from the minute I walked in her eyes were on me in an almost smug way.

So when she refused to look away she got my deathly bitch stare and even a large sigh to go with it.

Aibu? If I am then please tell me how you would deal with it instead Smile

YANBU. I'd be going for serious head-tilting, "is there a problem" shit in her face by this point.

There is a woman at work (not in my team) who appears to have taken against me. I now make a point of greeting her with a cheery "Good Morning", as it really pisses her off. Why not try something simila

Or you could be professional

PovertyJetset · 02/05/2017 23:01

Yes I would also start messing with her and being super nice and breezy.

Run up to her face and shout "yay a staring competition, I love these!!"and then stare at her lose "oh rats, you win, you're the best at staring! Have an amazing day!"

Or when she fixes you with a stare, gush-"oh you noticed my new hair/shoes/bag, you're so sweet!"

Or when she follows you with her eyes, whip around and shout "almost got you that time!"

Channne an children she tv presenter. Mess with her. She will be embarrassed as hell.

PovertyJetset Grin you actually had me laughing out loud, thank you.

50Bales I do understand and I'm sure it sounds childish. I dealt with the incident at the time by going to my manager. What happened after that I genuinely have no idea.

I try and just ignore it but months are being stared at in the most obvious way possible does get to you.

I once had a conversation with the person who sits opposite her regarding work. Where she literally just stopped doing her own work and just stared.

It's weird and not something I can really take to my manager.

If you have an issue with someone at work try to sort it out
If you can't then take it to managers. Don't play stupid playground games

5OBalesofHay · 02/05/2017 23:18

Cross post not a response but nasty staring had no place at work on either side

PovertyJetset · 03/05/2017 17:35

My post was a bit tongue in cheek, but don't give this woman your head space.

If she stares at you, confront her- "can I help you with something?" She'll say no, and if she keeps staring sAy "please stop staring" and then turn away from her.

Unless you are both 15 you need to rise above it. Ok you can want to twat the silly cow but you must remain impenetrably cool, professional, friendly and sophisticated on the outside. It pisses them right off!
