We are off on holiday to Tenerife next month and it's a 4 1/2 hour flight so DS will need changing at some point. I know there aren't changing tables in the toilets and there's barely enough room for 1 adult let alone me and DS! Has anyone any experience? We are flying BA there and Easyjet home x

There are changing tables in the toilets. Why would you imagine there aren't?

And you should be able to do it on your knee sitting on a loo by now anyway, surely?

Liara · 02/05/2017 20:13

Aren't there changing tables in the toilets? Whenever I've travelled with dc that needed changing there always were, though you wouldn't notice them if you weren't looking for them.

NannyR · 02/05/2017 20:13

There is usually a changing table in one of the toilets at least. They fold down from the wall.

PeppaPigTastesLikeBacon · 02/05/2017 20:13

Have you got a night nappy? They last 12hrs for my dd at night (we use pampers)
What seating have you got?
Hopefully someone will come along with a better answer.

Orangebird69 · 02/05/2017 20:13

Pull up nappies are your friend!

Mu123 · 02/05/2017 20:13

There are changing tables that are tucked away into the wall. Certainly has been on all the flights ive been on

BendingSpoons · 02/05/2017 20:13

I flew Ryanair recently and there was a changing table that folded down over the toilet. I assume all airlines have it.

Pigwitch · 02/05/2017 20:13

Just change him just before and just after flight?

Justmadeperfectflapjacks · 02/05/2017 20:14

Practice doing it with him standing on the loo seat!!

Mari50 · 02/05/2017 20:14

There are changing table in the loos, they're usually above the toilets and pull down

alcin · 02/05/2017 20:14

The toilets should have a pull down baby changing table, every flight I've been on has, but not in every toilet on plane.

There wasn't much room to do my ds unless I had him lay diagonal.

OhFuds · 02/05/2017 20:14

Put a pull-up on him, it's easier to change standing up and hope he doesn't poo.

NSEA · 02/05/2017 20:14

There are changing tables in the toilets of planes.

I wouldn't change my 2 year old on my knee on the toilet. Too wiggly.

cariadlet · 02/05/2017 20:15

There are changing tables in the toilets. I used them when dd was little, but by the time that she was 2 it tended to be easier to change her standing up - from what I remember the tables are quite small.

Shenanagins · 02/05/2017 20:15

They are behind the toilet and fold down. A little tip, make sure the shoes can come off easily, we had lovely converse with laces, they were a nightmare!

brummiesue · 02/05/2017 20:15

Surely he can go 4hrs without a nappy change? Pop a new one on just before you board?

Empireoftheclouds · 02/05/2017 20:16

As PP's there are changing tables.

Orangebird69 · 02/05/2017 20:16

And BA defo have changing tables in there loos. But it's still easier to change them standing up and using pull ups.

UppityHumpty · 02/05/2017 20:16

Some airlines will let you change babies where the stewards manage the food. All food is sealed so they'll often let you throw down a nappy changer provided you aren't much in the way.

Monkeymarbles · 02/05/2017 20:17

We've just flown jet2 and there went a changing table in the toilets at our end on the plane. I just put loo seat down and changed mine on top on a changing mat I brought with me. All good and dead quick and easy.
However 2.5 hours of peppa Confused

Yukbuck · 02/05/2017 20:17

Unless he poos, I wouldn't sweat about changing on the flight. Just change before and afterwards. I have a general 4 hour rule but really sometimes they just haven't weed much!

Cutesbabasmummy · 02/05/2017 20:18

Thanks people! I guess I never noticed there were changing units as I've never needed to use one before! We use pull ups as we can't get him to stay still enough for a regular nappy. It will only be if he poos that it will be a bit of a mare! user1493022461 - no need to be so aggressive!

AngryGinger · 02/05/2017 20:18

Can't you do it on your lap?

loverlybunchofcoconuts · 02/05/2017 20:19

Ooh, which airlines do that? I'd like that to avoid them from now on!

toomanypasswords · 02/05/2017 20:19

I've flown BA and easyjet with babies / toddlers and there are changing tables that pull down above the toilet. It is a squeeze but you manage. Change shortly before getting on plane and take pull ups on with you in case of needing a change. My DD1 has been ill (both ends though not at the same time!) and we've successfully managed full-scale changes in an airplane toilet. You'll be fine!!
